ABELARD CONSTRUCTION

We didnt go with the 1st several companies, thinking we would be better off waiting. There were so many people having problems with contractors and getting material. Abelard had great salesmen, great brochures, locations in Florida. Now my roof is leaking and theyve left the state. Called corporate and they said, "The Abelard office here in St. Louis has nothing to do with Abelard Construction in Florida. My understanding is that Abelard Florida is no longer in business and there is nothing we can do for you in St. Louis. The St. Louis office is a Limited Liability Corporation and is only responsible for work we do here in this office. Im sure if we have another active hurricane season they would be back in a heartbeat". I should have realized when my roof didnt pass the 1st inspection. Another company said $2,000 to fix what they did wrong.

The ordeal was not pleasant from dealing with the insurance company to dealing with the guy from Abelard. Ben Cason came and talked with the appraiser and was unable to convince him that any of it needed to be covered. Worse, he was unprofessional in being hard to reach and not returning my phone calls once he had my money. It took a phone call to the main office one month after securing my deposit to finally get anything done. The workers braved very cold temperatures to get the job done. I was impressed how fast they worked once we finally got rolling. Hopefully my roof problem is ok for now. In general, I have had trouble working with all roofers. I called at least 5 of them, and Abelard was the only one who at least came and did the work.

Dan Stone was very helpful in pointing out the hail damage to my property. He also met with the insurance adjuster, to make sure that I got all insurance money, that I was entitled to. His hard work resulted in me getting an insurance check for $3000.00 more, than what was originally quoted. Dan Stone was also helpful in discussing all aspects of the work to be performed, from the types of shingles to the different types of vents. He was very professional and made sure that I understood all aspects of the work to be performed. As for the crew, they were punctual and did an excellent job. Overall, excellent job!
