We had a couple of similar issues happen, so we changed our procedures to add a double check of the shield reinstallation. We have also bought some additional tools that will speed up the process and ensure that the shields are tight. We look forward to serving you even better next time!"
"(removed member name), We do change the oil filter on every oil change. Occasionally, we see specific models more frequently and run out of filters for a certain make and model. When this occurs, we purchase quality oil filters from local retailers, such as Advance Auto or O'Reillys, until we get our next weekly delivery from Valvoline. So you may have seen a "Purolator", "Wix", or other oil filter instead of the normal "Valvoline" oil filter we typically use. I am sure that is the source of the confusion. That said, the oil filter aids in maintaining the engine and is very important for extending an engines life. But it does not help or hurt the MPG very much. When you last visited our store on March 9, 2013, we recommended our two part Fuel Injection Cleaning because the throttle body was caked with carbon. That is likely the cause of your loss of MPG because we typically see an improvement of 1 - 4 MPG with that service.
