He arrived on time, he completed the job quickly without breaking anything.  He made everything fit in the truck which was purely amazing to me. I moved to St Joseph from St Louis.  I was amazed that he was willing to come all the way there to move me here.  He managed to do everything with snow on the ground and never once did he get the truck stuck. He was very great to work with.  The most affordable mover I could of ever imagined!  Fantastic service!

I found this provider on Angie's List and with all good reviews we assumed that we would have great service. I also had checked out his website and found nothing that would lead me another way. We were wrong. Mike was good about contacting me back after we would leave messages for an initial quote. When we contacted for the initial quote we explained all large furniture items (we had made a list before contacting companies for quotes), the fact that this was a 5000+ sq. ft home with 2 master suites and several boxes. We knew that this would be a big job for anyone so we wanted to be upfront with everything. He asked did we realize that he was in St. Joe, to which we said yes...we, at that point, felt that he possibly didn't really want this job but he proceeded to take it anyway. He originally quoted me with making 2 trips, as we told him that we would not be able to get everything in one trip. When I called him to confirm the day before, he stated that he would bring a bigger truck and only 2 guys with a hope of getting it all in one load. Keep in mind that we had already, ourselves, told him that he wouldn't be able to get it in just one load with all of the items on the itemized list, size of house, etc....but hey, we aren't a moving company so we didn't question it the day before when stated it. When Mike and his 1 guy arrived on moving day, later than planned, we told him, when we saw the rental moving truck, that it would not all be able to go in there and he acted puzzled and dismayed. We walked him through the house pointing out what needed to go. He started to puff up and immediately be on the defense about how they couldn't get this with a 2 man crew and that it would take 3 days to move this. We told him that we never expected it to be done in one load. He then got extremely defensive and said how we never told him it was this much stuff and how it was going to be and quot;xand quot; rate and he was only working for and quot;xand quot; hours. We explained that we did tell him how much but that we knew it wouldn't be in one load. He continued to get angrier, which we couldn't understand since we weren't questioning anything. We just wanted him to use his time, that we were paying for, and start moving stuff as we knew that we couldn't get it in just one trip. We told him that he was still going to get paid, obviously, so he might as well get started. He proceeded to look at us and say, and quot;am I?and quot;. He then proceeded to try to belittle us by saying that everyone in America knows what size the biggest rental truck was. We told him that we aren't in his business, therefore, we have no clue what kind of truck he is using. He rolled his eyes and kept yelling about this. We told him that we had no clue that he didn't have his own truck and that he had to rent a truck. The lack of professionalism from him was appalling. He and his guy began moving items out. We told him what needed to get moved for sure on this truck, knowing that he was giving us limited time and limited space. This made him irritated as well...apparently he wanted us to have no say in what went on this truck. My husband helped to disassemble the bed and haul boxes out to
maximize our time because they needed both guys to move things that my son alone was able to move to other areas of the house and they moved at a pace that was definitely not a work/maximized time speed. When Mike tried to disassemble the bed he got frustrated and said he couldn't do it because it was stripped....amazing how my husband was able to take care of getting it done. After having the truck over half full, Mike asked did a certain table go. We told him yes but that we would prefer some more important items go before it and we pointed out what needed to go ahead of it. I even asked did he need help with an item. Once again, Mike was irritated. As he mumbled he made sure to mention that he guessed he had to move something else while waiting for the bed to be disassembled since it was to have already been disassembled. I mentioned to him that never once had we been told that the bed was to be disassembled. In fact, his website states that they disassemble and assemble items if need be. He also made sure to say that he had been misled and that we had told him that he was moving a 2 bedroom house with a few boxes. Why would we mislead someone who is going to be there moving the items? We did say that there were 2 Queen bedroom sets (only one ended up getting moved) but we also mentioned 2 master suites. How an over 5000 sq. ft home with 2 master suites translates to 2 bedrooms is beyond me. We were very clear with everything that needed to be done. He then threw his hands in the air and said that he was unpacking the truck and leaving. After discussion and questions of why would you want to do that and not get paid, he decided to continue on. He met us at the house, 30 minutes away, and was irritated by anything, which was not much, that was not going on the main level. Everything was protected well. I will give them that. I will also mention that the guy that helped him move was quiet and seemed respectful and nice. Mike, however, needs to learn how to handle his emotions and learn some professionalism. He makes sure to note on his website that he is church going....I'll just not judge on that one. When we went to pay him by check he said it had to be cashier's check. Again, something that was never mentioned....and made no sense. He, of course, took what he could get though and went on his way. We would never recommend this company and certainly would never use them again. It's extremely unfortunate that all of his positive reviews turned out to be an extremely negative experience.

I try not to give all A+ reviews because I assume others won't believe me or think I am exaggerating, but this is my one exception. Mike's Movers moved us from one home to another in-town in 5 hours! We're talking about a large 4 bedroom house with some heavy furniture and a few NOT ONE THING WAS BROKEN OR SCRATCHED! And that includes a PIANO!
I was totally impressed. I've moved several times and this is the first time I wasn't sitting at the new house waiting for the movers, and nothing was broken! The piano is still IN-TUNE! It was really amazing and I was very surprised.
Mike is a complete professional and nice guy. His team is courteous, professional and hard-working.
I really don't want to move again anytime soon, but if we do, Mike's Movers will be moving us!

I needed someone to move the entire contents of my old house to a new home. I started looking both on line and in the yellow pages to find a local company that, first of all, I could trust. There are actually more people in this business than I would have expected. Some were the large, national names you might recognize. Others were obviously small, probably local companies, that I couldn't find any information on other than their name and phone number. That's when I turned to Angie's List. I had never used Angie's list before but knew it had a good reputation for rating businesses by people who have actually USED those businesses. Mikes Moving Co was listed on Angie's List and had a very good rating, so, I gave Mikes Moving Co a call. Mike asked several questions about what I had to move and was able to give me a estimate over the phone. His price was actually significantly less than I'd expected it to be. So, I booked Mikes Moving Co. On the day of the move Mikes actually called me and asked if they could come a little earlier than we had scheduled because he'd finished a job earlier than expected that morning. I told him he could and he showed up with his crew and got started. Without going into every detail of the move I will say that he and his employees were very professional, very energetic and apparently tireless as well. Most importantly, to me, was how careful they were with all my "stuff". They finished packing, hauling and unpacking everything in less time than his estimate (based on what I had told him on the phone) and lowered the bill accordingly. I actually paid less than the estimate and I thought the estimate was more than fair to start with! I would not only recommend Mikes Moving Co - I would, without hesitation, use him again!!

I'm not 100% sure of the cost that was associated with my move, I've simply forgotten how much I paid. It was the 2 hour minimum.

|I needed movers on a short notice. I called Mike's and although he was booked, since my job was very small, he asked his staff if anyone would be willing to work over to help him. Before he hardly got it out of his mouth, one of his staff said they would. So very grateful for Mike AND the staff member who gave up some home time to help make my move happen! Professional, polite, and detailed.

This was the easiest move of my life! Mike and his crew loaded (and even packed some things) and had the truck loaded in less time than we had originally planned. They carefully and successfully wrapped and moved numerous paintings, fragile and bulky furniture. They unloaded everything to my exact specifications, carefully following the room markings on each box. They had my bed assembled and placed before I could even go upstairs and ask if they would mind setting it up. I was extremely impressed with this company and will continue to recommend them to my friends.

Mike and his worker came on time and planned the furniture move quickly and efficiently. The estimated time to pack and deliver was very close to what was estimated based on what I told him on the phone. Mike's Moving is a very good in town moving service-no damage to anything. and no wasted time

Mike gave me a quote when I called, we set up a time and date.

Mike and his helper showed up at the agreed upon time, actually about 10 minutes early (which was great), and got right to work. They did a great job loading my belongings into their truck. They were both very nice guys, very professional, took direction well and overall, did a great job. When we arrived at my new home, they brought everything in, placed everything, from furniture to boxes, exactly where I asked them to (as a matter of fact, they moved a couple of pieces of furniture a couple of times!).The move actually took a little less time than I thought it would.

Both guys are hard working and professional while also being very nice to me and handling my belongings with care. Nothing was broken or misplaced.

The agreed upon amount was exactly what I was charged. No hidden fees, no extra charges, just exactly what I was quoted.

This is the first time in my adult life that I have used a moving company (in the past I have moved with help from friends and family with pick-up trucks and such) and I was a little leery. Not anymore! These guys changed my mind! If and when I have to move again, I will be calling Mike!

I highly recommend Mike's Moving Company! Moving is a difficult process but Mike's Moving made it easier. Thanks, guys! Great job!

When we called for an estimate, they arrived when they said they would. The estimate was comparable to the actual cost. The move went very well. They placed our belongings into specified rooms in our new house. We were very satisfied with our moving experience.
