"The client requested that he would like us to retexture a section of his stairs leading to the pool after the contract was completed in full. In an effort to satisfy all of his needs we told him that we do not actually do texture work, but we would try to put texture down for him at our cost. Our contract never had texturing on it. We let the client know we could get some roll on texture and then paint over it so he wouldnt have a smooth area as his original texture had basically come off. We were in contact fully through every step of what we were doing. Pictures and everything. [Member Name Removed] travels a lot for work so we had to do this work with him being absent. [Member Name Removed] approved the work via text message. We awaited his arrival to see the texturing. When he arrived he was not pleased. Instead of letting us know that texture was too rough and we needed to try something else he became belligerent and started insulting me. The whole plan for this was to try a texture to see if it works, if not; try another. He knew this is how we were approaching the issue, and even participated in trying to figure out how to texture it with us. When the client became down right insulting and threatening a lawyer we had to step back. Two things were learned in this experience: 1. roll on texture doesnt work. 2. Be respectful to your contractor or they wont go out of their way to help you after contract completion."
