"I have already explained to the client they did not pay in full, I gave them an estimate on the price to install the basketball goal, i have charged them for the time/materials to dig and pour the pier required for the basketball post. (the pier took longer to dig due to water line for the irrigation and a drainage line for the gutters, as well as the instructions required a larger pier than expected) They paid $135 for labor to dig and pour the pier and $45 for the concrete. I went back once the concrete was cured to set up the post and backboard, I completed the post and all that is required is to install the backboard, which i was unable to do because of the weight of the backboard is more than one person can do. I have already explained to him that i did not know the weight of the backboard when i gave the estimate and if i would have known the weight i would have not have taken the job. I did not charged them for the time it took to install the post because of this unexpected event. I work alone and haven't found another to help with the backboard installation."
"Thanks for the review, it was a pleasure working with you."
"Concerning the caulking, I explained to the owner of why the caulk line had to be curved vs. the 90 degree, was due to the previous work (not done by my company) creating a larger than normal gap between the wall and sink. I applied 2 layers of caulk over two different visits to correct the issue. On the second visit she informed me that she was hoping for a 90 degree corner between the sink and wall, to which i informed her that to obtain that (and to fix the gap issue) would require to re-mud the wall to plumb the wall even with the sink and she didn't want that much work done. I already gave her a discount on the second visit (normal price is $100 minimum per visit) I originally billed her $80, which was a $20 discount. She requested a further discount so we agreed on $60. To demand $290 refund is insulting. Being all the other work that was done and the caulking totaled around 30 minutes or less, there is no reason to return her the value of 6 hours of labor. Being that I have already discounted her $40 (which is more than the $25 value for 30 minutes of labor) I will not give her a refund. If she wanted a response she could have called and talked to me, to predicate the requirement for reimbursement due to not responding to a review (in which she did not request me to contact her) is also very flawed."
