Supposedly this company had been in business of providing lawn services for twenty years. I was looking for dependability and this appeared to address that issue. The quality of the mowing was good, the price was competitive and the owner was personable (when he was first selling his services). Unlike his local competition however, if he misses your scheduled weekly mowing (in this case due to weather), he will not return until the following week. As I expressed to him, when there is rain and grass is growing, missing one or two weeks in a row is unacceptable; at this writing I was looking at three weeks of no service. When I hired his company, we discussed this very issue and he assured me that if weather prevented cutting on my regularly scheduled day, he would work continuously to "catch-up" with the yards he had missed. According to his email response to me (see attached thread below) when I first questioned this situation, he stated that it had rained 4 inches (not where I lived) and that required him to skip "a lot of lawns". I subsequently interviewed several lawn service companies to replace Eisenbath, called their references and did not find one customer that experienced being 'skipped' due to weather. When I notified him that I could not work with his business model and that his services were not longer needed, he politely thanked me for my business and wished me "good luck"... I hope this response answers your request for information. XXXX Thanks for your business we will send you your invoice or will put in your mailbox. [email protected]> Date: Monday, October 6, 2014, 11:41 AM Gary, Please disregard my last email of yesterday's correspondence thread. I have decided that I must use another company for my lawn cutting and maintenance needs. This cancellation is effective immediately. By way of a courtesy, I will explain my decision. I am disappointed because your crew does a great job, but reliability is of utmost importance. It is obvious to me that my business is of low priority to you, hence the decision is out of my control. When other companies manage to get my neighbors' yards cut and I don't, that is unacceptable; grass was being cut all weekend around me. Our location is very noticeable and I have a responsibility to keep it maintained. If it rains this-coming Thursday and Friday as forecast, your business model would push me out yet another week. When we first spoke, I addressed this possibility and you assured me that I would not be left behind because of weather, that you would work until all yards were done each week. Obviously you have changed your philosophy... I wish you the best. Sincerely, XXXX Gary, Thanks for the note. Please understand that I don't own a lawnmower and everyone around me has cut their grass. I sure don't want to get in trouble with the subdivision because my grass is so high. I can't imagine what it will be like if we get a lot more rain this week. Do you think there might be any way you could work me in sooner? Thanks again!
