Mike was out of town the weekend I called him but returned my call as soon as he returned. He showed up that day, performed the necessary repair, and charged a reasonable amount. My makeshift water diversion was not working very well, so the basement would have flooded badly if he had not shown up.

Years ago I was happy with this plumber; however, my recent experiences have not been positive. Not always available when you really need him. His recent work has not been careful and thorough - some had to be redone by another plumber.

I called Mike on Wednesday and asked him if he could show up on Friday. He said had a full schedule but that he'd be at the house at 8 a.m. He showed up at the stroke of 8. He did a quick, professional job and was gone in less than 40 minutes. Parts and labor cost $74.
A few weeks earlier, he came to repair our water heater. It took much longer to drain the heater, replace the malfunctioning part, then refill the heater and test it. His bill for parts and labor was $75.
In the past, I have waited at the house to let him in. After dealing with him for several years, I have come to trust him. He's a local guy with roots in the community. In the future I will leave a key for him so that he can work at our place when it's convenient for him.

If I have a plumbing problem I would definitely call him again. There was something weird with the water softener and he came, looked at it and fixed it. I like to say that I have had positive experience with him over the last few years. Though I lived in a rental property, he came and fixed it in the rental property over ten years ago. So he has been in business for a while. He can always figure out what the problem is and fixes it.
