In spring 2013 I had Jack from Folkweave handle the new floors in my whole-home renovation. This aspect of the project cost more than $20k.
I cannot recommend their work.
The unfortunate experience we endured was a perpetual 'over-promise and under-deliver' one. We have buckling wood, uneven sanding, footprints-in-finish, and no transition out our front door. Jack had agreed to come back to my house during a family vacation last summer to repair two of the most egregious mistakes and ended up exasperating them. Furthermore, we can see instances where the stain and/or finish were unevenly and hastily applied leaving a permanent spilled or stained appearance in spots.
Since August 2013 I have heard nothing further from Folkweave.

They came out and provided a very detailed written estimate on our project, and since we were undecided on how much we were going to do, Jack provided 3 separate estimates, one for the stairs, one for the hallway, and one for a basement family room. We decided at this time to do the first two projects. They have all kinds of samples in the store to help you decide, and will let you check out several and take them home with you for a couple of days at no charge, which is what we did. They were very helpful in suggesting the type of carpet that would work well on basement steps, and also the vinyl that we would work well , since we occasionally have a slight water problem in one spot. Their suggestions really made it easy to narrow down the choices. I thought the price was very fair . We did have to wait a couple weeks for the materials to come in, once they arrived the project was completed in less than two days and turned out beautifully.
We could not be happier with our new carpet and flooring. I would definitely use them for any future carpeting needs. FYI , they also sell area rugs, and the prices on these are very good as well. I did buy a 4 x 6 beautiful area rug for my dining room last year from Folkweave as well.

Folkweave's products and prices were comparable to those of two other companies that bid for our work. However, we experienced water damage in the lower level. Folkweave was the only company that would work with our contractor to remove the old carpeting to make way for the foundation company to repair the damage. Folkweave coordinated with the other contractors and delivered and installed their product in a timely manner. For example, they installed the bedroom carpeting while we were waiting for the foundation work to be completed. They removed the moldy downstairs carpeting to prepare the area for the general contractor who removed some of the wallboard, baseboard and insulation, and for the foundation company to repair the leaks.
We were impressed by the pleasant and cooperative attitude of the Joerns. Jack visited our home and made good suggestions in addition to providing bids for the work. We were impressed by the friendly and hardworking installers. They did an excellent job of installing and were very careful in moving our furniture. They went the extra mile: when rust was discovered at the base of a steel file cabinet, the men cleaned the carpeting and the cabinet thoroughly. When they were removing the moldy downstairs carpeting they also removed a mattress and box spring that had been damaged by the water - at no extra charge.
Folkweave did its best to help us through a very unpleasant and expensive experience.

Jack was very knowledgeable about the tile flooring and was great to work with in trying to pick out different options. I was unsure exactly what we wanted and he helped narrow the choices for us. He took me to different stone vendors so we could see what was available. We had a head contractor doing the project and we wanted folkweave to work with us and him in regards to when exactly the flooring could be laid so the project would not be held up or have any down time waiting on the floor install as I had brought Folkweave in on the project myself. Once the flooring was ordered, it was delivered, the day they were to install, they did not show till after 10am, when I began calling at 9am was told must of hit traffic. (this was the excuse more than once) Now most construction contractors start either 7am or 8am, apparently theirs do not arrive at the Folkweave shop till 9am, get their supplies, get the truck then head out. My fault for not asking exactly when do they start and how long do they work till. Once they started the kitchen and laid it out, it was determined the pattern they thought would work would not. The 3 peices would not fit together correctly. The 2 tile pattern worked out just fine, but then they were short on the materials and so stopped the first day early, I had even offerred to go and get the rest of tile from local stone place as wanted to keep them working. Everyone on project was set to come in right behind each other like clockwork and needed them to keep moving. They assurred me would get the material and be here first thing in morning. Next day another arrival after 10am. This then made the job carry over to following Monday. Matt and the installers were very nice and did do a great job. We then had two bathrooms that were to be done, we discussed with Jack and made arrangements for them to come in and we would have bathroom torn out and toilets pulled out ready for them to begin. They were to begin work on a Wed. morning, guy arrived (who was apparently outside contractor) first thing he said after looking at baths, now I'm working today on these, but won't be back till Monday, is that ok?. (he was going hunting) At this point we had no choice but to have him begin as 2 of our bathrooms were not useable, we were expecting him to finish the job by Friday. and we would be back with bathrooms and plumbing. Instead we were without bathrooms 5 additional days really for no reason other than poor scheduling. Again, though they did do a good job at installing once they stayed on job. Those in the office answering for Jack when he was away, did not seem to care in the least or even be aware of what Jack had told them.

Jack Joern came to our home and discussed several options with us and helped us select carpet and pad that was suitable and a good value. He provided several estimates to help us choose from the options we had discussed. After we made our decision, he ordered the carpet and scheduled the installation on days convenient for us. During the first day of the job, the installers found the carpet had a defect from the mill. The carpet had to be re-ordered and the installation rescheduled. They did everything they could to minimize our inconvenience. When the second batch of carpet arrived, they returned and completed the installation as planned.

We started looking at the hardware store for ideas. I though I had an idea, and then I would go to the professionals. I went in told them what kind of tile I wanted. They gave me information and some hard facts about what works and what doesn’t. They sacred me away from cheaper solutions as I wanted a long term solution. I ended up with a much more expensive but much more durable product that I am happy with. When I went to their store I liked that they talked to each other and me about what would be best with the job. They were interested in doing the best job not just pleasing the customer. They let me make the decision but they gave me reasons why this might be a better option. I learned a lot about flooring. They also found some rotten wood during installation and I think they repaired that at cost.

From the store, talking with Jack about what would be best on the entry stairs with pets, etc-to the estimate with Ron-to the install with Pete, the experience was great. They know what they are doing and are very nice.

The tiling went just fine. The coordinating of the other workers was not the best though. The carpenter that installed the vanity, however, was very good and showed up right away. I had two people do the tile, one being better than the other.

We stopped in on the last Saturday of October because we were going to try to get carpet before Thanksgiving. Jayne was extremely helpful (but not pushy), explaining the different grades and types of carpet available (we had never bought carpet before), and she gave us plenty of time to browse and shop on our own. We picked one and she sent me a quote, but she told me we could probably save a few bucks if we picked a carpet that was in 13' or 15' width. Though we stuck with our original choice, I was shocked they tried to save us money. The carpet arrived in their warehouse the Saturday before Thanksgiving, and two great installers were at our house promptly at 9 am Tuesday. They did a wonderful job (even around a nasty old radiator), and were very clean and courteous. I highly recommend Folk Weave.

I feel like he was great in getting my business, especially when coming to my house twice. He as supposed to come over to meet my tile installer, but stood us up. Maybe that is why he got all the numbers wrong. He told me the tile was approx 4.50 each, they were over 7.00 each. He told me the glass tile was $18 each, they were $36 each. I fell in love with the design and therefore purchased everything. I love the tile. I love the way the bathroom looks now. I cannot accept that they deceived me and lied to me about taking back the tile. I feel manipulated and cheated. For the amount of money I spent on their product, I WILL NOT recommend them to anyone.

This is a small family-owned business and they took a lot of pride in their work and communications. Installation did take almost one month to schedule, but it was well worth it. This company came in almost $2000 less than anyone else (just because they don't have the large overhead). Finish product was awesome. Employees were very pleasant and professional.
