"Our written agreement with [member name removed] was for bi-weekly lawn care and included only mowing, trimming, and blowing lawn clippings from sidewalks. We were often asked to do work outside of the scope of the agreement and we complied without charging any additional fees but were not contracted to do so. We do offer full lawn maintence services for an additional fee but were only contracted for general lawn care. As the weather dried up in the early summer we spoke to the home owner and gave him the option to save money by not mowing when the grass was not growing with the direction to call us when he was ready to resume service. We try not to take advantage of our clients by mowing or performing services when they aren't needed, even though we are contracted on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. We did not receive a call regarding a downed limb in the yard. We had advised the homeowner last year that the trees had died and should be removed, as they would continue to lose limbs in their yard. This service was declined and limbs have continuously fallen. We have removed limbs each time we have mowed as a courtesy without charging for additional labor. When we mowed June 27, we were required to use a chain saw to cut a fallen limb into smaller pieces to be hauled off of the property. This is a service for which we would have normally charged a client additional fees, but we went ahead and took care of it for him. When we performed the work on this homeowner's driveway in May, we advised him that gravel on an inclined driveway is not the most appropriate solution as it could wash away. The Owner chose to have the work done so we delivered gravel and graded the drive. In a case such as this, when we have discussed problems that can occur with requested work, we cannot guarantee against acts of nature. Mr. Vietmeier was informed of this prior to the start of this project. When he called to inform us that a little bit of gravel had washed into the grass on July 25, it was recommended that it be raked back onto the driveway as a simple and immediate fix. He did not request mowing service on this call. We received another call on Monday, August 5th after the region had experienced extraordinary rainfall, regarding the driveway and mowing service. He also mentioned that his neighbor's driveway (work that had not been done by us) had also washed out. Mr. Vietmeier is usually scheduled to receive service on Thursday or Friday, as we have other clients that receive service Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. When we informed him that we couldn't make it to his home until later in the week on his normally scheduled day, he hung up the phone and did not request us to return to mow his lawn. We strive to provide exemplary service to each of our clients and go above and beyond their expectations. We regret that this client is unhappy with the service we have provided and we wish them the best."
