I was stood up twice by A Grate Chimney Sweep, so I contacted Marty with Raytown Chimney. He came right out and was great. He got the job done and was very professional. He now has my business as long as I have a fire place!

Marty was punctual, efficient, and honest. I called him out to do a chimney inspection and cleaning since smoke was coming back into the house after lighting a fire. He was punctual to the appointment, discussed the issue professionally, and went to work. He quickly verified that the chimney was, in fact, clean and didn't need a sweep. He explained that, in my case, the smoke had a long way to travel and showed me a technique to use when fire building to prevent a recurrence - I've never had a problem since then. He also inspected and caulked the chimney crown. His price was fair, he spent ample time going over current and future needs. Overall, I will happily use him again and give him my highest recommendation.

I phoned Raytown Chimney and spoke with Marty. He said that he would inspect the chimney and only charge me to sweep it if it was so dirty that it needed it. Otherwise he would just charge for an inspection. He would also inspect the crown and give me an estimate for a seal job if it needed it. I was agreeable to this. Marty arrived on time and inspected the chimney. He found it did not need to be clean. He thought the chimney crown should be sealed and gave me an estimate. The estimate was more reasonable than that I had received from another company. I agreed to have him seal the crown. He was finished in less than an hour. He did a neat job with the sealer. I have satisfied.

It went just fine. He arrived on time, did neat work, explained the operation of the top damper and didn't make a mess. He's our new go-to chimney guy. He charged $90 for the inspection and $460 for the damper, installed.

Marty was hands down the best! We called a week before Christmas and he was unsure if he could fit us in. Two days later he called and said he was in our neighborhood and could stop by. Marty was incredibly knowledgeable, professional, helpful and trustworthy. Raytown Chimney will be our go to company in the future.

Appreciated Marty's demeanor and approach. He identified some cracks and deterioration from water penetration on the chimney crown and upper brick mortar and repaired that with an acrylic concrete mortar patch, installed stainless steel chimney caps and, inspected and cleaned the chimney. Very satisfied with his work.

On top of being incredibly nice, Marty's work was thorough and explained to me in layman's terms.  He also took a call from me after the service appointment (after hours) and provided additional advice.  He worked outside to examine the structure of the chimney and the flue.  He also pointed out the features of my chimney and the best way to work the (what was at the time) very rusty vent.  Great to work with.

I felt the purchase price was very competitive. The service and installation was excellent.   Marty was professional, but yet friendly.  I would definitely would recommend Raytown Chimney for any Chimney needs you may have.

He came to inspect on Friday. He was leaving on vacation on Wed. and his schedule was full. We received bad news about our fireplace and we have the house sold. We was in a crunch and he was not going to be able to help us out until his return home in about 2 weeks. He said he couldn't sleep because he knew we was in a pickle. So today on a Saturday he called and came to the house in the heat of the day on the West side of the house on the roof and completed the job.  It was a big job, but he is very thorough and neat. The chimney is fixed and clean and set to have a gas log installed.

It is such a blessing to find a trades person that has a conscience and cares to do their very best.

Marty was very professional in his assessment of alleged water ingression into the chimney per a recent home inspection report.  He found no evidence of new water penetration and said the chimney was very dry and well sealed.  He didn't leave comments to this effect on his report, but he agreed to supply those comments and initial them so we could provide that feedback to the buyer of the home.  Very friendly and easy to work with.  We would've liked him to have come to the house a day earlier as was initially promised, but a big job delayed his appointment with us, hence the lower mark on Responsiveness.

Marty was very prompt and professional.  He was able to fix a damper to close that hasn't closed in years.  He pointed out areas that might need to be addressed in the near future and answered all my questions.  I would definitely recommend him.  He did an excellent job.

The price was reasonable.  The service went very well.  There were no problems.  They were friendly.  They covered up and did a good job.  They didn’t make a mess.  I couldn’t tell that he had been there except for the clean chimney.  I would highly recommend him.
