We were stood up three or four times before having our actual roof installed. We were stood up for the very first appointment and were given the excuse, "I'm sorry, I have no excuse except that I forgot." The ONLY reason we gave them a second chance is because a good friend who is a house painter recommended them. So, we gave them a second chance and stupidly signed a contract with them on the first appointment. It was *at least* six months before our roof was actually put on after that point. It was probably the lousiest excuse for "communication" we've ever seen working with a company. We had to be the ones to contact THEM after each time we were stood up, often without even so much as an apology.
When the time finally came that we were "told" the roof was being installed next week, they failed to show until Thursday of that next week to tell us it would be the NEXT week.
The installation itself was okay. The roof itself was fine. They did leave a giant pile of old shingles on the wires in our backyard when they left for their midday break, so my husband had to send a picture to the guy we had been working with and ask someone to come and remove them. They left behind TONS of nails. I expected nails. You can't possibly get them all, but I am talking at least 100 that following week that I picked up.
Finally, the icing on the cake, they left 30 to 40 nail holes in our ceilings. The nails popped through during all the pounding. We were stood up twice for the supposed walk through, both times WE had to contact THEM to remind them that they had been no-shows. We didn't even get a real apology! "I forgot to put it on my outlook calendar," or something along those lines. So when they finally showed up, my husband asked them to fix the nail holes. Would you believe they told him it's not their responsibility? He reminded them that, essentially, they owed us that and much, much more. To be treated SO poorly was unfathomable, but to be treated so poorly and then to fight that very customer on fixing a problem that YOU created? I mean truly, I have no words. I cannot stress enough how horrible our experience with this business was. To treat a paying customer as though you couldn't care less if you have their business is beyond me. And to not offer us any compensation, but instead, to fight us? Well, I guess that says all much more about this business than I can wrap up in 8000 characters.
"We regret that you were unhappy with the finished product/color of your roof. However, we can only recommend color options. The ultimate decision comes down to the homeowner and what they like or have seen on other houses."
