He started July 2010 and has now just finished the system July 2011!
He put in an electric furnace (Should have recommended Propane in our opinion) and 3 Air Con units. Everything functioned well and the equipment was well spec'ed out.
However he was very inconsistent about showing up. He never came when he said he would. He gave every excuse in the book. He did not test the AC unit - as by the time he put it in it was Jan 2011 and he said (later -after a unit did not work) it was too cold to turn it on! Thus only 2 out of 3 units worked and by June we realized the smaller unit worked but stopped.
We had not (luckily) paid him the full amount and still owed him money for the job -which he thought was complete- and called him to come check it out. We called off and of on for 2 months and he came out and finally repaired a leak to the system and got it working.
We gave him his final payment 1 year after he started the job and he argued he was only "repairing something that was already done." Since he never tested the AC we told him it was never DONE and we still considered he was not done yet and withheld payment until he finished it. We got close to a legal resolution but luckily it did not come to that.
The work was generally done well as far as quality and we are pleased with the operation but will call someone else who is more reliable next time.
