Over the last 3 months my husband and I have utilized the services of many different contractors and, in general, things haven't run smoothly. They say they will be here at a certain time, say they can perform work they can't, etc., etc. Craig showed up when he said he would be here, he was very knowledgeable, conscientious, and respectful of our home. He cleaned up his mess upon completion and accompanied me on the final walk through to ensure my job satisfaction. I will refer Craig and utilize his services in the future. Now, if he only painted.....LOL

He was very courteous and prompt. He handled himself in a very professional manner. His team, too, was very courteous. His carpentry skills are excellent in some very basic ways. He made me a beautiful bookcase at the end of my peninsula. I could not be more pleased. However, he was not able to perform all the he said he could. In my estimate he was to build a pull out shelf to hold my cookie sheets and other larger bakery pans. he could not build it. Also, in the estimate he was to remove my wall oven, build shelves in the opening and build doors to cover the opening. After he removed the oven he did tried to talked me out of the shelves - which honestly the storage from these shelves were key in the entire remodel. He did however, complete them. Shelves are nice, but when he finished the doors had a gap. In the estimate he was to use decorative glass, he however, used plan, very thin glass. I immediately re-positioned the hinges to eliminate the gap and replaced the glass with the glass he could not find.
Description of Work: The estimate was to build a shelve at the end of the peninsula, to remove a wall oven and to build shelves in the oven opening, to build doors to match other cabinet doors, with decorative glass, to remove part of another cabinet to make room for a range, and finally to build a pull out shelve to hold cookie sheets and larger bakery pans.

Craig was easy to work with. The initial quotes were all done over phone and e-mail - I actually didn't meet him face to face until the day he showed up to do the work. He was patient and quick to respond with my various requests for quotes - siding w/out painting, siding with painting, if we wanted our front door replaced...in the end, we decided to go with siding w/out painting. He was considerate enough to call me when he went to buy our new siding and let me know that our old stuff was no longer in production, but he'd found a very close match. We decided that it would be best to replace the entire section, rather than just the damaged portion, so the slight difference in style would not be noticeable. He and another worker arrived on time, worked quickly, and left the job site clean. He was happy to fix a few small details that I pointed out and the repair looks great. It was the most painless experience I've had hiring a contractor and we will definitely call him again the next time we've got a job!

Craig was very easy to get a hold of to schedule the estimate, despite playing phone tag (our fault). Craig and his associate came to do the estimate and got the pricing back to us when he said he would. The day that the work was performed, he showed up early (but called first to verify it was ok). He moved some furniture and laid down plastic to protect our belongings and then promptly got to work. He stayed until 6 or 7 in the evening to try to complete the crack and kitchen sink installation, but since he was so thorough with the crack, he had to come back the next day to install the sink. The crack he was repairing was about 2-3 inches in places and we had very little hope that it would look 'normal' after any repairs. It looks fantastic and once we paint it, it will look like nothing was ever wrong!!! I couldn't be more pleased. We have quotes from him for other work and are planning to have him come back in a week or two to complete that work as well. He is a great worker and gives a more than fair price for the quality he provides. Don't pass this one up!

The job went very well and we are very pleased with the results. Craig is very punctual and always easy to get in touch with. He always responds to calls or emails very promptly. He is very meticulous, very careful and very diligent. We had also planned for him to replace a light/ventilator fan/heater in the 2nd bath but his assistant pointed out improper wiring that required an electrician to fix so that wasn't done. We appreciate that he didn't just reconnect everything as it was. We will be using Craig in the future.

I was very happy with Craig's work, he was on time both for the estimate and for the job itself. He did the work quickly and I am very happy with the results. Additionally, while I knew that I wanted to change from the plastic to improve the durability of the roof, I wasn't sure what material would be best. Craig talked me through the options and was even willing to go take pictures and send them to me as the location he was getting it from was far away from me.

He did a good job. He was prompt. He did work with us. The price was just about right. I think it was $500 for the materials and $100 for the labor. He was more expensive than some of the other people that I looked at. I think the labor was a little bit more expensive. The quality looks real good. He was responsive. I will use his services again in the future.
Description of Work: I used Craig Packham for carpentry work. I last used his services sometime in the last one month. He installed a couple of attic doors for me. He actually picked up the doors and installed one in the garage and one inside the house.

We live on the side of a 150 ft. cliff, and the terrain is slippery rocks sloping steeply down to the cliff, so that made replacing these boards more difficult than normal. They had to put up scaffolding instead of just using a ladder because of this. Even with the scaffolding, the bid came in under what other people had quoted and they finished it in just a couple of hours. They were very good about communicating their availability and showed up on time and were very professional and competent.

I'm preparing my house for sale and needed to have some eyesore repairs done. I got three estimates (all from Angie's list, of course). The first two handymen were great but they were just offering to patch up my decrepit wooden side fence and poorly constructed small wood deck. For just a few hundred dollars more, Craig tore down and rebuilt both the fence and the deck and was able to replace my front door at a fraction of the cost the others quoted without reframing it. The only issue I had is that Craig gave me the 'ugly' side of the fence. By the time I noticed it was going up the wrong way, it was too late to fix. He apologized for the miscommunication. I think a more specialized fence person would know that whoever pays for the fence gets the good side. Since I'm selling it's no big deal, but if I were staying the mistake would be staring me in the face on a daily basis...
Description of Work: Craig tore down my wooden side fence, two wooden gates, and a 15ft x 15ft deck. He disposed of the materials. And then he rebuild them. He also had one of his workmen replace my front door and patch up some damaged drywall.

This is the 2nd time I've hired Craig and his work was again excellent. He was prompt, his attention to detail was great and his price was more than fair. We decided to remodel our master bathroom and having been so pleased with Craig's work before I called him to check his availability. And despite being a new father, (literally he was in the hospital when he took my call,) we scheduled a time for him to come look at the job the following week and then a day later he submitted his estimate. I booked him for later in the week and after I picked up all the materials he recommended (my choice), he got to work and knocked it out in about 6 hours (and this was with me bugging him and asking questions constantly, so add an amazing amount of patience to his list of good qualities.) Craig will always be my first call carpenter and handyman. I can't recommend him highly enough.

Craig's tape and float work was very quick and professional, and he made a point of cleaning up after himself. His experience shows; he made it look easy! The drip edge repair was more challenging. Working with a 20' long piece of relatively flimsy metal while on a two-story ladder in 95 degree heat can't be easy. He worked meticulously to get everything just right. When he ran into a problem he patiently explained it to me (twice because I didn't understand the first time), offered solutions, and let me choose how I wanted him to proceed. The one downside was that Craig had planned to rent an extension ladder to complete this job, and didn't discover that home improvement stores don't rent ladders until 20 minutes before our appointment. I was disappointed that he hadn't planned better for such an important tool, but it was an honest mistake and I appreciated that he called to explain why he was running late. I offered him the use of my own ladder, and everything was smooth sailing from there. And after watching him work on that ladder, I'm sure glad I didn't attempt the repair on my own. Craig is personable and polite, and takes pride in doing quality (and neat!) work. <---- Read that sentence again because it tells you everything you really need to know. I would definitely hire him again.

Craig was wonderful. He was very professional, punctual and very honest in discussing the job. the price was very fair. He discussed any concerns about removing a live propane pipe or the use of certain products. Giving me the option to decide before he started. He showed up exactly when scheduled, his work was excellent and he was very clean and thorough. I will be using him in future!!!!!!!!! Highly recommended!!! We have a home built in 1897 and have used our share of Handymen, Craig ranks to the top of the list.

It was a breeze to get an estimate from Craig. I just emailed him the list of things needed with the links for the furniture assembled, and he called back next day with the estimate. Everyone else wanted to pay a visit first. I didn't want a stumpede of carpenters in my house, so I hired him the same day. He started the following evenings and worked for the 3 evenings total (his schedule was perfect for us, as we preferred night worker). It was a lot of work, but he moved quickly. Also, he gave good suggestions along the way. I'm planning to hire him again as soon as I collect few more projects for him.

We contacted Craig. He got back with us in a very timely fashion. He arrived at our home, and in about 20 minutes he went over our requested areas. He went out of his way, stopping by our home to pick up the new door, so he could cut the hinge and door knob areas before he came back for the job. On the time and day we asked for, Craig arrived at our home, and was very fast in completing the jobs required, and did an exceptional job. Not only did he go out of his way to pick up the door, when he finished hanging the interior door, he fixed the previously unsealed door jam.
Description of Work: Craig put hardware on interior door, and hung it for us. He fixed an uneven bifold door. He also cut plywood to exact specifications to cover our heaters' ceilings.

Craig is exactly what you want in a handyman (though he does perform other services as well and if they're even close to as good as his handyman work, I'll be calling him again.) He came as a referral from another handyman who was injured on another job. After a phone call, a walk through and an estimate, we scheduled the job. As agreed, I picked up all materials based on part numbers given to me by Craig (total price of the job included these materials) and on the day of the job, he showed up on time, worked quickly and accurately and got it done right the first time. He even went out of his way to explain (verbally and visually) a part of the job that I had asked about in a previous conversation. He disposed of all job waste properly and had my garage looking cleaner than it was before he started. I will definitely hire Craig again when the need arises.
