I James showed up to work no more than 2-3 days a week, and there were many weeks we did not hear from him at all. He made many promises that never came to fruition, and gave many excuses that included the following: He had $11,000 stolen from his bank account, he was in a motorcycle crash in the hospital, his phone was smashed, he was in the hospital dying of stomach cancer, he was undergoing cancer treatments that made him sick, and he didn’t have money for gas. In the beginning, we were sympathetic to his problems, (even paying him some of the money we should have held to the end) but it became too much to be believable, and he was caught in many lies. In February 2019, I even passed him driving on the highway, and 10 min later received a text from him that said he was in the hospital. He was very unprofessional, and made statements such as “I need more money now, or I have to move to another project, and it will delay your project”. He also told us he needed $1500 of the final payment in advance because he had to pay for the shower door. In January 2018, he stopped showing up at all, and hired his buddies to do work, but their work was sub-par, and in the end a lot of the tile work had to be ripped out. The shower pan did not drain correctly, and tile was cut crooked and hung anyway. The deadline came and went, and by February 2019 we were left with a project that was less than 2/3 complete, and James was not returning any of our messages. He did not complete the change order we paid for, and we lost thousands of dollars by hiring James. The project was never completed, and we hired an actual contractor to finish the work. We have left James messages, and asked for our money to be refunded, but he does not respond. He ripped us off, and stole thousands of dollars that we worked very hard for. I would never hire JD Foresyth Construction to do any project. Please search James Foresyth at cases.mo.net. Know who you are hiring, I wish I had before it was too late.
Description of Work: n September 2018, we hired JD Foresyth Construction, (James Foresyth) to complete work in our basement, that consisted of building two walls and a closet to create a bedroom, and to turn our ½ bath into a ¾ bath by adding a shower. The project was supposed to take about 5 weeks, and we were promised a completion date of Dec 2018.
