Don't let Luke Hardy's calm and reassuring voice fool you, almost none of the promises he made ever actually materialized. The baseboards suffered extensive damage from the sanding, they didn't have the equipment to finish corners or close to the basefboard, their vacuum attachement was broken causing the entire house to be filled (and I mean filled) with sawdust, and then they applyed the polyurethane to the floor wtihout cleaning up the dust which caused the final product to have a sandpaper like finish. I had to hire someone else to fix the damage to the baseboards, and if I ever want to actually have a nice floor I'm going to have to have it refinished again. Luke seems like a nice guy but that didn't actually translate into a good job.

This was a very frustrating experience on many levels. I hired Luke Hardy to install and finish new hardwood floors in my living room and kitchen. The job was to take 7 days in September 2009. Since I was having other parts of my home renovated he suggested that should return for final patchwork, stain and sealer once the renovation was complete. I agreed that would be a good idea. I have been trying to schedule an appointment for completion since November 2009. I attempted calling and emailing multiple times to schedule an appointment between November and January. It was difficult to get a hold of him and get a reply. We finally set an appointment in January 2010 for a two day job to complete what he started. He showed up 1 of the 2 days. He did not call or attempt to reschedule. I was left with wood filler and an incomplete job. It took multiple emails and messages to finally get a reply to reschedule an appointment for February 17th. He failed to make that appointment. For each appointment that was scheduled I had to remove all of the furniture, clean the floors and take a day off of work to accommodate his appointments. The work may have had the potential to turn out well. However, missed appointments, no return calls and the lack of common courtesy is not worth finding out how the floors would turn out.
