The only problem was with Rock Solid's electrician. In the process of adding the electrical outlet to the top of the mantel, he tied into the wrong line and was pumping static signals into our audio receiver. That was ultimately corrected but not be shorting out the audio analog input on the receiver. Easily fixed by switching to digital input so I did not pursue recourse with Rock Solid.
A week later we noticed one of the rocks in the fireplace was loose and had not be cemented in place. We notified Rock Solid and within a couple of days it was fixed.
While I would recommend Rock Solid for almost any project, I would not hire them for any electrical work.
Homeowners should always demand that the contractor provide general liability insurance and Worker's Compensation coverage for their employees. It there is an accident involving one of the crew, the liability can easily fall to the homeowner. Rock Solid insures their workers and the law requires it however there are many (one we considered hiring before RSR) who do not. Doing this affects the cost of the project. Not doing it can cost you everything!
Rock Solid Renovations IS "Rock Solid" in dependability, budget and workmanship.
