I received bids from 3 big-box stores for pre-fab cabinets and Dakota Cabinets which is a custom cabinetry shop. Dakota Cabinets were within 10% of the lowest bid from the big-box stores. I have absolutely no regrets for my decision to pay a small amount more for custom cabinets. The cabinets are gorgeous! I plan on using them for my kitchen cabinetry in two years when I gut the kitchen.
