JD at Floors to Go was extremely responsive and helpful. I picked out a beautiful floor that was on sale, and JD was able to get an even better price based on the quantity I bought. He delivered it himself a few days before the job so it could acclimate to the inside of my house. He also called to check on us during the installation to make sure everything was going well.
The subcontractor FTG used to install my floor was a father-son team, Steve and Kyle, who did meticulous work. They were punctual, extremely respectful and professional, and worked very hard the whole time they were there. They even worked through a DIY issue created by a previous owner, which involved sanding off plywood glued to the subfloor. Ugh. They paid close attention to detail around the brick fireplace and stairway and carefully removed and replaced all the wood trim in the house once the floor was down. They also gave me good advice about installing new 'feet' on my furniture to prevent damaging the floors.
The installation straddled a weekend, and we had some out of town family spending the night. They offered to pack up and take all their saws, tools and other equipment with them so they wouldn't be in the way while my guests were there. That wasn't part of the job. They just did that because they're stand-up people. I declined their generous offer, but I was very impressed they offered to do that extra work to help me out with my guests.
It was a big job that I had been considering doing for years, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out.
