Smithco Mechanical Heating & Cooling is an HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) and solar sales, service, and installation company located in Nixa, MO serving both residential and commercial customers in Springfield, MO and the surrounding communities of southwest Missouri. We strive to provide each and every customer with "complete comfort control." Our motto is "Your comfort is our concern." Smithco Mechanical technicians continue to further their education in the ever changing HVAC industry through HVAC classes and conventions. In order to continue providing customers with the highest quality of service, installation, and repairs, Smithco Mechanical technicians also receive ongoing factory training from the following manufactures: American Standard Heating and Air Conditioning, Mitsubishi Electric, Arzell Zoning, Noritz Tankless Hotwater Heaters, Honeywell, Lockinvar/Knight boilers, and Econar Geothermal Systems. We offer a variety of payment options including 0% financing (subject to approval) so that you can choose what's best for you.

Provided information from consumer reports, return on investment, and annual cost comparison.
Provided a full 10 year warranty!!!
Provided 1 year no charge service.
Installers were prompt, did great work, and cleaned up well!  
Came 2 weeks later to personally check on the system, make adjustments, and helped file all paperwork for rebates.

Doing business with Smithco Mechanical was the best experience my husband and I have had with any contractor we have dealt with in the past (and we have had a few)!!!!  Matt  and his crew are very professional and honest!! Matt seems to truly care about his customers experience and I have to say he made the entire process as pain free as possible!! When you are making this large of a purchase for your home it is nice to know that you are dealing with a company that is going to do the job right and truly cares about the customer!! He was great at explaining the things that we needed to do and it all made sense. Matt even came to our home and added Freon to our A/C unit on the hottest day of the year which happened to be on a Saturday to get us by until our new furnace and ac came in which was the following Tuesday. This is a company that takes pride in their work and I would recommend this company to anyone that wants the job done right!!

I had 2 interactions with SmithCo.  
The first was a service call because my A/C wasn't cooling the house.  The guy came out, explained the problem, fixed it, great transaction.  Said he would email me the bill.  That was 2 months ago.  I never got a bill.  No complaints there, but tells me something about how they run their business if they can't even collect payments.
One month later the A/C stopped cooling again.  Not their fault, the unit was old and needed replaced.  So against my better judgement, I call SmithCo again for a quote for a new unit.  The came out the same day to take measurements and were on time. So far so good.  Then, the worst part, it took 9 days for me to get a quote via snail mail! I had already called another company, received and accepted their quote and had the system installed before I got their quote!
Very unprofessional.

"First, I would like to say that I am very disappointed to learn that you were not completely satisfied with your experience with Smithco Mechanical. We strive to offer the best experience possible. Our first trip to your home was on 6/30/14. We identified a refrigerant leak in your evaporator coil and, at your request, charged your system. On 7/23/14 you requested a proposal for a new replacement coil and also for a new comfort system. We came to your home the same day to collect the required information. I completed your proposal on 7/24/14 and mailed the proposal to you the same day. I am unclear as to why it took 9 days for you to receive the proposal as I expected that you would receive the proposal the following day. I also understood that your old system was still providing some conditioning for your home and assumed that you were taking some time to weigh your options, so for that I apologize. When we add refrigerant to a system for a customer and that customer chooses to upgrade to a new system, we do not charge the customer for the original service. This is why you had not yet received an invoice for the original service. We strive to offer outstanding customer service, and again, I sincerely apologize that you were dissatisfied with the service you were provided. Best regards, Matt Smith"

I will qualify this review by stating that at this point, it has only been a week since the installation of my replacement hvac system.  However, so far it has been textbook.  I did my research.  Smithco had the most competitive bid for a two-stage system of the 4 companies which provided me with bids.  My system was installed with attention to detail as promised.  It has worked exactly as claimed since installation.  My experience so far has been very positive.

Matt and his crew were excellent!! We had 3 different quotes; he was very knowledgeable and helpful even before we decided to go with his company. He was on time, if not early, every meeting we had. He never seemed like he was in a hurry and always took the time to answer any questions. 
Both of our units are working great and we could not be happier with our service. Will definitely use them again if the need arises.

Working with Matt was a very different experience than we  previously had with other Air Conditioning contractors we"ve used in the past. Matt was willing to walk through the house sit down, explain our options and actually show us some improvements needed to make whatever system we chose to operate at it's absolute best. When he ran the numbers he also found the system we had been using before wasn't even the right size for our house.These are things none of the other contractors had even bothered to look at much less tell us we would be able to change.     
    He was NOT the cheapest but he was THE ONLY one that had our best interest in mind. All that said I would highly recommend Smithco Mechanical to anyone looking for the same experience... he is "our guy" when it comes to Heat and AIr.  You really should consider making him yours as well.

The company we had used previously seemed to be nickle and diming us and would not negotiate at all on price. Smithco came in with a very reasonable offer that included all items, gave a rebate on our old AC unit and changed around some appointments in order to accomodate our schedule and get the system installed quickly.
