This was another one that eluded the fact that the house was sound and saying things that were terribly wrong. They had inspected the structural strength of the house. We ended up having a structural engineer coming in. He came and looked at it and everything was fine. There was nothing structurally wrong with the house. If this guy is saying there is something structurally wrong and it wasn't then I think that they are not very good inspectors and that cost me another sale, the buyer they were scared to death. There was nothing that we paid for it but we were stripped because of it, it cost us the sale of our house. I would grade them 'F' all throughout. I don't think that they are good, no, they are not good. I wouldn't recommend them to anybody.

Mario Trevino actually arrived early for the job and started examining the lagoon. As soon as we arrived he brought us up to speed on what he had already gone over. He was exceptionally professional and very courteous in explaning everything in terms that we were very able to understand. He not only explained what was wrong, but why it was wrong, how it should be done and how to fix it. He also pointed out things that might have been to code but were, in his opinion of optimal construction, not good practice and that would eventually become problematic (such as the lack of concrete footing on deck posts that would eventually lead to wood rot).For estimates, he referred us to companies and contractors that he knew to do good work. But what we especially liked was that, for the roofing estimates, he didn't give any references. This was because he owns a roofing business and felt it was a conflict of interest to recommend or not recommend competitors and also stated that he didn't do roofing work on homes he inspected on account of the same conflict of interest. This only boosted our confidence in his professionalism.His full report was issued to us promptly. It was detailed and included pictures and diagrams of not only what was observed at the house but also what it should look like. It was easy to read and understand.I felt his price was competitive to the other inspectors we had spoken with. He also gave us a discount for "bundling" all our inspections with him.Overall, he gave us a feeling of confidence that we knew the condition of the house. I personally know individuals who made bad home purchases b/c the inspectors failed to report major issues with those houses that should have been found in the inspection. Mario Trevino is an excellent inspector, and we feel confident in our choices b/c of his service. I would use him again and would highly recommend him to anyone needing a home inspection. He cares about his reputation, and that shows in his work.
