Throughout Spring and Summer, I had contacted and quot;A,and quot; three, or four times to have someone come by to present their quotation to us . . . no one came. Eventually, an and quot;appointmentand quot; was made . . . a day, but no actual time, or time frame, given. After waiting the entire day to hear from them, we get a telephone call, around 5:30 PM, asking whether they could send someone by, then. In the middle of preparing dinner, I was upset that I had been and quot;left in the dark,and quot; ALL day, and told their female office person, and quot;Don't bother!and quot; and hung up on her. I should not have done that, for that action was to, eventually, and quot;come back to bite me!and quot;
Eventually, and quot;Aand quot; sent a worker to our home, who, without cleaning the furnace, started it. He said that the furnace was (now) unsafe, since the Carbon Monoxide level was too high, deemed it and quot;unsafeand quot; and disconnected the propane line, rendering it disabled. We were told that we needed a NEW furnace that would cost, about $3,200.
After completing a credit application with and quot;A,and quot; we were told that it was declined (learning, in a few days [by mail], that we were declined, due to an and quot;adverse report from the dealer.and quot;
We were resigned with trusting God, through the Winter and buying portable space heaters for each room within our home. Several weeks passed.
Two days ago, my pastor's wife asked whether I could unlock the church doors, so that Shannon Heating could inspect our electric service. In meeting Bob Shannon (owner), I mentioned our troubles with the furnace.
Bob was kind enough to come by our home, without an appointment, to inspect our systems. He said that it did not look unsafe, to him and would have someone come by, ASAP.
THE NEXT DAY, Mark was at our door, to help!
Our furnace was NOT defective . . . old (and dirty), but NOT needing replacement. As I type these comments, Mark has left and we HAVE heat! He said that all our furnace needed was a good cleaning, inspection and a new printed circuit board; any furnace would have spewed out carbon monoxide, initially, with the dirt that he found on the burners.
WONDERFULLY QUICK, competent service from Shannon Heating and Cooling of Mountain Grove, MO!
Was Company A being vindictive, since I hung up on them? Did they CARE that we would not have heat, throughout the Winter? I do not know.
