Auto Service
This business provides a very low level of customer service as well as poor judgement in business practice and organization.
I needed a transmission put in my 1996 Lumina and contacted Imports and More as I had done in the past for various mechanical services. I asked for Chuck Bankhead, who usually worked on my car and would typically answer customer calls. I was informed by the lady on the phone that "Chuck is not longer employed here. I am the new Chuck." At first I took this comment in very poor taste on the lady's part, but proceeded to inquire about the cost to have a transmission put in my car that I had purchased. She spoke to the owner, who was near by, and quoted her a reasonable price. (I do not recall the amount) I went ahead and scheduled to drop off my car and have the work done. I was later informed that the car need a bit more work done to it as well such as a new belt, a type of ball bearing, and I would need an inspection done as well. I agreed to additional work to the sum of a few more hundred dollars.
I was informed the car was ready and husband (Jason Carr) would be picking up the car. Jason withdrew cash to pay for all of the work that had been done on the car after calling to get a total for bill. I do not recall why we chose to pay cash, as normally we would have used a debit card or check. Jason went to Imports and More and paid for and picked up the car as I was out of town. Our intention was to pay for the bill in full for all that had been preformed on the, hence the reason Jason called in advance for the total. Considerable months later, we began to receive an invoice in the mail for an unpaid balance of $227.41, which I assumed was a mistake since we had paid the bill in full. After receiving another bill I called to inform them that there had been a mistake. The lady on the phone, the same as before I assume, informed me that there was indeed an unpaid invoice. I told that that we had paid for the service in full when we picked up the car. The lady then informed me that "its not uncommon for an invoice to float around the shop for weeks before it comes to her", in a very matter of fact of why as to this is just how they do business. She was not apologetic whatsoever, and spoke to me as if I had made a mistake in not paying for the service. I assured her that my husband had paid for the car in full when it was picked up or else the car would not have been released to us. Most of these interactions tool place in 2013-2014 I believe.
Now in 2015 Imports and More has turned the invoice over to a collection service called Legal Edge LLC to recover the amount. I contacted Legal Edge 4 times before getting someone to answer a phone, having left messages each time. She informed me that she was not able to talk ro me because Imports and More claimed the debt was my husbands. I was the one who made the appointment for the work and confirmed the additional repairs, the car was in my name alone and the envelope was addressed to me, as well as the letter. My husband merely paid for and picked up the car. I had also called Imports and More and clear this up and this time, the lady told me that there were two invoices because I had had my car in their shop on two different occasions as she had two different dates on the invoices weeks apart. This was entirely untrue and I got very angry as she was once again speaking to me in tone that conveyed that this was my fault. Through no help of the lady on the phone, I have figured out that SHE made a calculation error when we called for the total to pick up the car. The car never would have been released to us a second time for the work she claimed was done on a separate occasion had we not paid for it. She said I would have to provide a receipt for the work and the matter would be cleared up. I do not have a separate receipt as it was never there a second time. I called back and asked that the owner call me as I was tired of being spoken to in that manner by her. This was a week ago and I have yet to hear from anyone.
After sending the above to the BBB, Imports response was full of yet more fabricated stories claiming we were informed there was another bill coming, that I had "been billed" for services in the past, that I was informed by them they could not speak to me on the matter when I called, as well as they never bothered to address the above changing stories....which contradicted them saying we had been informed there would be a second bill.

I shopped around for prices this time on a new set of tires. Normally I would only go to one place in town. This place came up with the best price and I went with it.
They offered the same rotations and flat repair, but with a small cost. The tires came in when promised, fitted when I took them the wheels, and they have been helpful with balancing and repairing a flat since.

Well this wasn't my first time using them. They were supposed to pick up the car on a certain day. They didn't come get it when they were supposed to.. they came and got it about 3 days later. Then they had the car for 3 days because they said my car would not connect to the computer so they could figure out what was wrong. Even though right before they picked it up..it scanned just fine at an auto parts store and I was given a error code. The car ran fine after they fixed it so the repairs were done okay I guess. It just took them forever...the part that really got me...the day they finally fixed it..my car suddenly connected with the computer.....so for two days it wouldn't, then all of a sudden it did. My daddy thinks that they just wanted my car there as long as possible so that they could get a higher labor cost. Just a FYI, the date of service may be off...I can't quite remember what day it was fixed, sometime in Jan. or Feb.; it was right before a bad snow.

A car ended up pulling up, which turned out to be Wayne, the owner of this company. We ended up placing a car in a safe area for the night and then Wayne brought his tow truck the next morning to bring into his shop. He ended up fixing the wiring issues but the transmission was still not working. He ended up finding a new transmission but the car was still not operating correctly. He then installed an additional transmission he found. He ended up taking the car with the new transmission to Columbia Missouri to have them set everything correctly with the car. He made sure that everything was working correctly and would not turn the car over to me until it was. He was very meticulous and has a far pricing.
