I knew I needed a new laptop as my existing one was XP and no longer supported. However, I am a technophobe and had no idea where to start and what to look for in a new computer. Also, it would be essential for me to have someone come to my home to install the new laptop and printer once I purchased them. My neighbor had used Mike's service and highly recommended him. Prior to my focused shopping, I called Mike; introduced myself; and told him he had been recommended and I would like to use his services. He spent 45 minutes with me on the telephone discussing and suggesting what I should be considering prior to the final purchase. This included teaching me and explaining to me terminology I should have been familiar with, but did not really understand prior to our conversation. His suggestions were detailed such as: Minimum of 4 GB memory; i5 vs i7;etc. I typed up all of his suggestions and went shopping for a new laptop and printer armed with information. Salesmen were actually impressed that I had a knowledge base and a good handle on what I was looking for. Once I purchased the equipment, I called Mike and set up an appointment for him to come out and set up my computer.
Mike was VERY professional; Very competent; and extremely patient with me. I, of course, was overwhelmed with the entire process and could never have done it without him. He even made sure I had a beginning understanding of Windows 8 and prepared me for the learning curve that would occur while I adapted to the new system.
As the folks at Angie's List review this, they may notice that I am not typing perfectly within the box to answer their questions, but I am doing the best I can with new equipment.
As an added note; Mike was very calm and reassuring during the entire 3 1/2 hours we worked together.
