One of the forms we completed when we came was what specifics we wanted to improve. Again dog aggression and fear of bike riders was our main concern. At the end of the course you come and they demonstrate what was worked on neither item was addressed. Casey Ray's teaches basic dog training which is not what we were wanting. I drove in from St Charles to their Wildwood center and dropped my dog off very early ---one morning I waited over and hour and no one showed up. I had to bring my dog back with no training on that day. Casey Ray did pro-rate and refunded one days training. Still a long drive for nothing. I wanted to write this review last year when services were provided but I forgot until I came across their information in my dog file.

I cannot say enough great things about Casey Ray's. We had an incident with one of our four dogs where she actually broke through our fence to bite a neighbor dog. My husband and I were very upset and certainly didn't want another situation like this. I read reviews online and decided to set up a free evaluation at Casey Ray's Wildwood location. After the evaluation we signed up for the 15 day, day-train package. We dropped our pup off Mon-Fri by 9am and picked her up before 6pm. Zack and Halie were our main points of contact for our pup. She is very skittish, but the trainers made us feel at ease and answered all of our questions. After a few days she had clearly warmed up to them. She was visibly excited to go "to school" each morning when she saw the building. We are now moving on to building her foundation commands at home and I am SO impressed with the progress she has made in 3 short weeks. Our main problem has been in our backyard and the trainers even stated that, if we continued to see issues in the backyard after following their "at-home" advice, they could set up a time to come to our house and help set some ground rules. Every one at Casey's Ray's is incredibly nice, professional and helpful and I am SO glad we have them nearby. I would refer them to anyone who wants a happy, well-balanced and well-behaved dog.

We went to Casey Ray because our dog has leash aggression issues. When we first bought our package, we went to weekly, one-on-one training sessions. Each session, our dog would learn a new command and brush up on any commands learned in previous sessions. What's nice about Casey Ray Dog Trainer is that your package includes lifelong membership so you can bring your Casey Ray trained dog to group classes. You must call or email the facility the week of the group class to sign your dog up and there are limits to the number of dogs the group class takes (so if you want a Saturday class, call/email early Monday morning otherwise they'll be full!).
We continue to go to group training classes with our dog, but we are disappointed in the amount of time that's spent on greeting other dogs. We came for concerns regarding leash aggression (our dog is completely fine at the dog park and doggy day care with other dogs), but we don't feel that we are getting the time/attention we need with our dog to address our concerns. now, we have an extremely well-trained dog with leash aggression issues.

"Hi [removed member name], Please give us a call at 636.686.0363 and we can setup a few more lessons at no charge to really target this leash aggression. Its usually a lot of what the handler is doing so give us a call so I can take a look! Thanks, Casey"

When I first called, Casey himself set up an orientation visit for me and my puppy. I came in for the orientation during the week and met with one of his workers. I wasn't excited about the immediate pressure to buy a larger training package (lower pricing when bought sight unseen), but decided to try out the 4-day puppy lesson package, to use over two weeks. The workers seemed fine with the dogs, though they didn't offer a tour of the facility, including where the dogs would be kept when not having puppy social time. I also was not impressed that they took pictures of my puppy during the initial sales visit, saying they would be posting them on Facebook. I feel strongly that I should not be used for advertising until I have actual experience with a vendor, and I should be asked about it first, not just have it tucked into a contract.
Even so, reviews were good, so I brought my puppy in the next day. I had him there for a full day, from about 8-4:30. When I came to pick him up, he was retrieved from the back room, and I wasn't offered any information about what his day was like. Also, though I had been told that Casey would be there that day, I still didn't see him. I asked at that time to see the back room - it was basically a big, windowless storage closet in the basement of the building (where the training is), and all dogs were put in crates. Though when I asked I was told that the dogs spent a lot of time out playing with the other puppies, I never saw the puppies out when I came - either for my sales visit, on this day, or on my last day.
On my last day, I explicitly said in the morning that I wanted to have an update that afternoon on exactly how things were going with my puppy - they said sure. When I came in late that afternoon, again the puppy was brought from the back, and when I asked a couple of question, the worker had no idea of the answers, nor was I offered access to anyone who did. And, as before, there was no sign of Casey.
At that point I had started visiting other training facilities, and based on a significant difference in quality, I chose another trainer, with whom I am very happy. I didn't say I wouldn't be back the next week (training for puppies is on T / Th), but never did anyone from Casey's follow up with me in any way to ask about my experience or whether my puppy would be coming back to finish the program. Maybe they are just unorganized because of the number of staff members, but communications are sorely lacking. When I'm preparing to lay down $600+ for training, I expect guidance and active communication.

"Hi [removed member name], Let me start by saying I was a bit surprised to see a review like this. I would've much preferred if there was an issue, for you to pick up the phone and give us a chance to make it right. Many times when reviews pop up like this, some of our competitors are behind it, so I'm hoping that is not the case! With that said: What exactly are you unhappy about? 1) That you never saw me personally when you were picking up or dropping off? 2) You never actually saw the puppies out playing when you were picking up or dropping off 3) our kennel room, in which you made out to sound like a dungeon, isn't up to your standards? Whatever your reason is, I'm going to give feedback on all three. 1) I'm sorry if you never actually saw me personally. You had signed up about the exact time in which we opened a 2nd location and I have spent much time at the new place assuring its running smoothly. In addition, EVERY staff member we have has gone through MY school and knows what they're doing. I wouldn't leave the place in their hands if they did not. And as you mentioned, there are PLENTY of reviews to back this up. We're much too big of a company for some one to expect for me to do everything. Lastly, how much time have you spent at the facility when I wasn't there? 5 minutes, here and there? Because I split time between both places nowadays. 2) We are not a daycare where the puppies play all day long and I'm sure during your consult that you weren't told they do!. You had dropped off for Puppy Preschool and that's exactly what we did. The puppies are out to play together, but go back up afterwards. It doesn't take much time to wear out young puppies. The pups are all out together at varying times(depending on when the floor is available) where we work on dog on dog socialization. In addition to that, every puppy is brought out on its own to work on confidence building (A frames, tunnels, wobbly tables, etc.) as well as constant walks out doors while helping you work on housebreaking. Anyone can look at our Facebook page and see this going on with numerous puppies, so I'm not sure why it was so important for you to see them actually out on your brief visits. I would've assumed you trusted us as a an A+ rated service(BBB) to do what we tell you we are going to do. 3) Our kennel room is state inspected & licensed and serves our clients and dogs just fine. More importantly than having windows and fancy kennel runs is the fact that you will NEVER smell urine and feces in our kennel due to the knowledge of myself and staff and our disciplined cleaning procedures. THAT is what you should be concerned about when visiting any kennel or Vet's office. I'm sorry that it wasn't up to your standards but its worked for hundreds and hundreds of dogs and puppies without incident. All of our boarding and training dogs are out for training most of the day and put on the treadmill regularly which makes the crate style kennels plenty big for a tired dog. A place that isn't properly tapping into both physical and mental energy would need large kennel runs(boarding kennels). We do not because the dogs are properly exercised daily. Even though you've taken your business elsewhere I'd still like a chance to discuss your concerns in person where we can also discuss refunding you the unused portion of your Puppy Preschool package $37.50). Thank you, Casey"

We had tried a couple of different training programs with my dog before we found Casey and we are so grateful we found him! Other programs were okay when it comes to basic obedience, that's where they ended. The other trainers were satisfied if your dog knew the command, even if he didn't perform it every time.
Unlike other programs that teach you and your dog the basics and then end, Casey's classes lay the foundation for obedience and then go beyond, proofing and reinforcing the behavior so that your dog will listen every time, no matter what distractions are around. The classes are laid back and fun and they are a great way to bond with your dog! And after spending hundreds of dollars on just a few months of and quot;good enoughand quot; training we were ecstatic to find that we could pay one fee and have training for the rest of my dog's life.
Other obedience programs we tried were based on levels and had a checklist of commands your dog had to know before he could move on. This is okay, but as soon as the trainer saw him do the command once he was passed through. Before you knew it, we finished their Advanced Obedience classes, and my dog wasn't at the level I wanted to be at. And interaction between people and dogs was very limited so there weren't many distractions. With Casey's classes, you will not only learn the command but you will perfect it. There are dogs from every level of training and it's a more open environment so your dog will learn to listen no matter what distractions there are.
Casey also does amazing work with dogs with and quot;issuesand quot;. Many of his clients come in with aggression issues and through his guidance and training can correct it. We love the difference we've seen in our dog and the new confidence he has. He is a happier, more well-adjusted dog and we can't go out of the house without someone commenting on how well behaved he is. In fact, I haven't needed a leash on our walks for months now!
Every dog we get from here on out will be taken to Casey for training. We are customers for life!

We had used a trainer previously and had some basic obedience but could not continue with him as our schedules no longer coincided. I went and interviewed with three different trainers and felt this was the right fit. Between the 3 pricing was similar but they each had different packages / services available. One other item that set them apart is that their group classes were one hour whereas the another only lasted a half hour - which meant you spent more time traveling to and from than in class.
In our first private lesson we learned a new command of and quot;placeand quot; where the dog is supposed to get on a cot and is not allowed to leave until told it is ok to do so. I believe they use this as their first lesson with all students.
Our second lesson revisited the heel command which our dog had the concept of but needed some more work on it.
Since then we have been in the group classes and working on and quot;distraction proofingand quot; our dog. Where she will obey commands around other dogs, people, toys, and various other distractions. We have now graduated to an intermediate level where we do many things without the leash in hand.
In the different classes we have seen other owners and their dogs with a variety of training methods. That is one thing that I liked about Casey as he is not a one method fits all trainer. Some people use a purely positive approach rewarding the desired behavior, while some have remote collars or a pinch collar that will correct an undesired behavior. I am sure there are other methods that I am leaving out but the main emphasis is that each owner and dog are different and what works for one may not work for another. Casey will work with you in determining which method you are comfortable with.
Lastly you will get out of it what you put into it. The commands and lessons learned need to be reenforced outside of the classroom.
