"Mr. [member name removed], At the time of inspection the inspector performed a thorough inspection of the property and there was no visible evidence of subterranean termites to report. Almost 2 months later there is now visible evidence of subterranean termite activity. Our inspection is of the structure on the day of inspection (for example: if the inspector performs the termite inspection and there is no visible evidence of termites at that time and then the next day termites create shelter tube tunnels on the outside of the foundation the inspector could not be responsible for not seeing the termite activity after he had performed the inspection.) At some point in time termite activity or damage will become visible if present although according to the pictures that were taken at the time of inspection and the inspectors report there was no visible evidence at the time of inspection; Therefore our company cannot be responsible for predicting the future or for performing termite treatments as you are requesting our company to do for you well after the inspection took place. When you had called our office with your concern I quickly came out to your property to examine your concern that very day and it was determined that the termite activity was very recent. You never did state any complaint about water in the basement although it does stand to reason that if you allow water to collect around the foundation that you will have water in the foundation; this is why we made the recommendation to divert all water away from the foundation areas which is also known to attract termite activity. As far as the phone conversation you mentioned I remember you stating that you had a bad phone connection and that you were having trouble hearing and the phone call ended not shortly after that. I do not recall anyone speaking rudely or the conversation being heated at all. It is our company policy to provide premier inspections with premier service. We strive to have the highest level of customer satisfaction although we do realize that with some people that is not obtainable."
