D & K windows and gutters

I bought a groupon for them to clean my windows. About month after I bought it I got an e-mail from groupon that the phone number to use to schedule a time had changed. I did not call till about 1 1/2 months later and the phone had an answering machine with a message that that number was not the number for D & K. They had a nother number for me to call and no one ever answered. I contacted groupon and they refunded my money and I was not the first one they have had to do that for. Then yesterday 8/4/13, they advertisied a groupon for D & K again. I sent groupon an e-mail that I did not know if I could every trust what they were offereing anymore if they were going to still sell D & K groupons.

How'd it go? I didn't get ANY service from this company. How can I state how it went when it didn't happen? No valid numbers, no response to a message left for them on Facebook, no valid information on their website to use for communication, no emails listed..... how can a company provide a service when they don't provide a valid means of communication?

I have tried to contact and they will not respond. I believe it was a scam to get the money from Groupon. Luckily Groupon is a fine upstanding company and refunded my money.
I would tell people to stay away from D&K!!

it went very well. company was constantly in contact with me. They did have a delay in service but kept me informed. They're so busy and so good........................

I bought the Groupon last year. They were overbooked so had to wait until spring. They showed 45 min late . The person on phone said other job was running late -- guy who came said GPS took him wrong place. (For the record, I live in the south plaza in Kansas City -- not some backroads in the middle of nowhere.) By the time they got here, it started to rain. I dunno, I wasnt excited to have my windows cleaned in the rain, but the thought of rescheduling seemed unpleasant. As others have noted, getting call-backs is slow, always felt I had to chase them down, etc. (I know, they get 100+ calls a day. Maybe its time to hire someone?...)
Anyway, so the rest of this is my fault I guess, but I am writing this for the benefit of others. I thought I clarified what i would receive for my money... I have double hung windows.  D&B count this as 4 windows (2 inside, 2 outside). Other services I have used count that as two, and I thought I had checked last year with D&B as to their definition of a "window", but maybe I am confused..again it was last year. Plus there is a 8 dollar charge for storm windows. (It is in the fine print that there is a charge-- again I am not blaming them for this part.) Now I realize my $50 groupon wasnt going to cover everything, but at this point, it would only cover 5 full windows, plus an extra $40 for the storm windows. So $90 for 5 sets of windows. Meh. I have had better prices with less hassle.  So I just indicated I wasnt interested in receiving their services and asked them to go, knowing I would lose my $50 groupon.
The woman on the phone was friendly, and the two guys who showed up were straightforward and competent, so I am sure these are nice people, etc. I did wait four days until posting this to see if the owner would call to follow up once she heard that I declined services. (No call.)   Again, they must be very busy.

The service was purchased through Groupon, so the $69.00 price is for services that normally cost about $150.  They were fully booked in October when the Groupon expired, so they allowed us to use it this Spring instead.
We set up an initial appointment which got cancelled the day of the appointment because the service person was sick that day.  The next appointment we set up got cancelled because of rain.  They did arrive on time and completed the service on the 3rd try.  The quality of the service is good, so no complaints once we actually got the windows done.
The other frustrating part was the poor communication between the company and myself.  I typically had to call and/or email them multiple times before getting a response.  They also had in their system we had ordered gutter services, even after we corrected them on this matter once.
Not a great experience and I would not recommend this firm to others.

I called them. They showed up the day and time they said they would. They were very personable, courteous, and thorough. They did a good job.

Called the afternoon prior to appoint to confirm. Left message but no returned call. Supposed to be at my house at 8 am. No call, no show. Called them at 9 am to ask where they were. Said not coming because of temperature. Would have been nice to have been told that when scheduling. Said would call me back about coming in the afternoon when it warmed up. No call back. I called them back to reschedule for another day. They were scheduled at noon a few days later. Told them I would not be there until noon. Got home at 12:02 and note already on door that they left. Had to call AGAIN and they got them back to my house 15 minutes later. Finally got my windows cleaned and they look good. But not worth the headaches from this company.
