When the lock was removed it turned out there was a manufacturing defect with the lock.  They were able to switch the lock out for another of the same type, install it, and make two keys for it. I have used this company before, and would use them again.  I was pleased with their service.

First company I set up to do work never showed. Called and quot;Lock Doctorand quot; and they came out within the hour. Young man, who did the work, was friendly and explained what he was going to do. Work completed to my satifaction. Price was right. Would use again.

They responded the same day. He was able to unlock the door right away. He was in an out quickly. I was satisfied with their service.

I called the Lock Doctor because, even after oiling the lock, neither my husband nor I could unlock the keyed deadbolt in the door to our deck.
First, I was amazed by the response time. The locksmith was at my house within half an hour of my initial telephone call. Incredible; isn't it?
Second, it took the locksmith maybe all of 60 seconds to discover that the lock was not the problem on the door. It was the door itself. (He gets points for not making me feel any stupider than I made myself feel.) Apparently our house has settled some by the deck. The locksmith was able to adjust the hinges and the strike plate so that the door is now usable.
Third, he warned me that if we had more lock problems with that door, we should call a carpenter to correct what additional settling will have done. That is certainly an honest action because the Lock Doctor will not make any money if I call carpenter. I like that the locksmith told me what to do in my own self-interest rather than his.
Fourth, he checked the key in the deadbolt in the front door (even though I had not asked him to) at no charge. The key was difficult to turn, so the locksmith sprayed oil into the lock. The key works easily now. The locksmith told me the key was having trouble because the lock had become very dry. He also warned me to only lubricate locks with oil and not graphite because graphite would ruin the locks. Once again he was advising me to do what was good for me and not for him.
Fifth, the locksmith was pleasant, which is certainly good if someone is in my home. He was also great at explaining the solution to the problem to me. I appreciate that.
We have used the Lock Doctor before with positive results. Today's experience makes it even more likely that we will call the Lock Doctor in the future if we need a locksmith.

The service man came out on the same day that I called. I had no problems with him. He took care of it immediately, I paid him and he was gone. He was professional and fabulous. He knew what he was doing and I was able to get into my house. The price of the service was also pretty comparable.

I called @ 3:30 and Rick gave me the price, said h could have a locksmith out within 30 minutes. The locksmith arrived on time, was very pleasant and had the job completed within 20 minutes. He left the area clean. They were great to work with, I highly recommend .

I was in and out in about 20 minutes. They did a good job, no problems with the re-keyed locks.
