As expected the job had unforeseen pitfalls - Precision worked with every issue that came up and solved them all. It was tense at times, but Precision stuck with it and in the end met all of our needs expertly - and all without increase to the initial bid. Color us as happy customers, with a really great looking (and performing) roof.
I'm so please with the finished results, too. The new roof and gutters look fantastic. The crew did the work quickly, too.
Absolutely recommend working with Precision Roofing!
"I apologize for the confusion on this matter. We show that we installed the roof and gutters in August of 2011 and I don't have any notes regarding any additional painting. If there is anything that you would like us to take a look at please let us know and we will be happy to come out. I will reach out to you as well. Again I apologize for the confusion."
I would give the job a 100% satisfaction from beginning to end.
On the first day, Precision sent a crew of 4 or 5 people. We were told it would take 3 days, maybe 4. The second day, there were 3 people. I called to complain about this and was told the whole crew would be back and our job was not being slighted. That proved to be inaccurate. There was never again even 4 people working on our roof all day. After that first day, we never had more than 3 roofers here (unless a 4th came by for a couple of hours in the early evening) and sometimes not even that.
On one day in particular, the entire crew (3) vanished for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours, not during a normal lunch period. I called the "field supervisor" and he did not know they had left, where they had gone or why. He said he would find out. A couple of hours later he called me back and asked me if they had returned. I told him they had. He did not know where they had gone or why. None of the three could/would respond to my questions about their absence, who their supervisor was or the time required to complete the work they were doing; they indicated to me that none of them assigned to our job spoke English, saying only "boss coming". I never talked with or even saw the "boss" they mentioned.
The job was started I believe on a Monday morning and was finished the following Saturday afternoon about 4 PM. During those days, significant amounts of damaged roofing had been thrown to the ground where it laid for a day or two. A very large blue tarp that was used to cover areas exposed to the elements was thrown off the roof and onto two bushes (not visiable from inside our house-it was brought to my attention by a neighbor). In addition, their compressor leaked gasoline at 5 or 6 places in our yard, killing the grass almost immediately. As a result of all of this, our landscapping particularly around the house, was damaged beyond survival by the "scorching" of the grass by the hot shingles from the roof, gasoline leaking, and several sizable branches were broken off the bushes. In addition, the crew was as sloppy as any I have seen (we have had 4 roofs replaced in our lifetime and we never had an experience like we did with Precision). Empty water bottles, crushed cigarette packs, fast food wrappers, etc. found their way to the front yard during the day; and on two days (evenings), the trash was not picked up, nor were the remnents of the old roof; everything simply stayed where it fell/was dropped/was thrown. I took numerous digital photos of all of this and sent them to Precision's management.
When one of the Precision field supervisors returned on Monday morning (following completion on Saturday), and inspected the work, he said it looked fine. He called me later that day and said he was going to send some people out on Tuesday to fix some things. They (2, I believe) showed up on Tuesday and spent about 2 or 3 hours on the roof. In addition, the insurer sent out an inspector a couple of days later and found a couple of additional, but not immediately critical, items needing repair. The inspector took care of these himself.
Precision did agree to have our lawn areated and reseeded and a sprinkler head replaced which had been cracked when run over by their truck. I chose not to pursue the matter of the crushed bushes because, as a matter of fact, we had discussed replacing them anyway. While our neghbors were having their roofs installed in 3 or 3 1/2 days, ours took 5 1/2 days, plus the subsequent repairs to the work completed, so 6 days in all, even though the 3 man crew did work most evenings until about 8:30. This unusually long time to complete the work was, I believe, due primarily to the lack of people assigned to our job and an apparent lack of timely supervison.
"As a result of the hail storm in April of 2011 the member contracted us to replace his roof. We did come by referral to him from his insurance company. At the time of the initial visit we inspected the roof and checked the adjustment done by his insurance companies adjuster. We did find several items that were omitted and we did rectify that with the insurance carrier. This caused no issue and did not cost the member any additional funds. As a result of the size of the storm and the number of homes damaged, our schedule did take longer to begin work than we originally told the member. We did communicate this to the member and apologize for the delays. He said he understood. The installation was done during a time when temperatures reached 100 degrees and it did take longer to complete the work than we expected. We have our guys take frequent breaks for their safety. I have apologized to the member for his frustration. The insurance company sent an inspector to inspect the entire job and found no issues. We did have damage to some areas in the yard as a result of the high temperatures. We also broke a sprinkler head when materials were delivered. We paid for corrections on all damages. The member has paid for the work and has been issued a warranty that is not only backed by us, but also, is backed by his insurance company. If there are any further issues please let us know and we will be happy to meet and make any corrections needed. Mike Weber Precision Roofing"
