This was a tricky job from the beginning and we knew it - we got several bids. Some vendors couldn’t do the whole job themselves and would have to piecemeal it - Precision said it would take of the whole project, and their bid was competitive.
As expected the job had unforeseen pitfalls - Precision worked with every issue that came up and solved them all. It was tense at times, but Precision stuck with it and in the end met all of our needs expertly - and all without increase to the initial bid. Color us as happy customers, with a really great looking (and performing) roof.

Easily the best price of all the estimates I received.  They made everything easy for me, which was exactly what I needed.  They were responsive, even when I wasn't.  After giving me an estimate in the summer, my work responsibilities consumed me, and I wasn't able to get back to them for months.  But when I finally did, they were on top of everything, as if they'd given me the quote the day before.  I appreciated that greatly.
I'm so please with the finished results, too.  The new roof and gutters look fantastic.  The crew did the work quickly, too.
Absolutely recommend working with Precision Roofing!

Precision Roofing installed the complete concrete tile roof in 2000.  This review is for a repair to the roof (approximately 12' x 20') on my screened in porch.   The work was reschedule a couple of times due to weather delays on jobs ahead of mine.  Precision kept me informed on the schedule changes & completed the work to my satisfaction.  There were a few bumps along the way due to miscommunication between the office & field.  I notified the office and the issues were corrected immediately.    I felt the crew foreman was conscientious and wanted to have a satisfied customer.  The crew left the area clean and the customer (me) satisfied. A edge tile cracked (not the fault of the worker) when it was being reinstalled.  Precision located a replacement tile and installed it a couple of days later.  No follow-up was needed on my part.

Actually we had hail damage and so insurance paid for a part of it.  It still cost a lot, trust me.  They were awesome.  They did a good job and they picked up after themselves.  It was very good.  They were a recommendation from a friend.

My roof is good but I did not like the customer service. Actually, they messed up something on the roof and were supposed to come out and repaint it but they did not come back to do it. I have been too busy to call and remind them. The job originally was good but the follow up was not good. Their price was a little above average.
Response from Precision Roofing
"I apologize for the confusion on this matter. We show that we installed the roof and gutters in August of 2011 and I don't have any notes regarding any additional painting. If there is anything that you would like us to take a look at please let us know and we will be happy to come out. I will reach out to you as well. Again I apologize for the confusion."

We ran into a situation where a rusty HVAC vent was clashing with the roof colors, etc. They went out of their way to paint the vent. They did not have to do this. And it looks terrific.
I would give the job a 100% satisfaction from beginning to end.

The workers were unsupervised and did not clean up. I wasn't too satisfied with them. They had to cut in to the side of the house to complete the roof. In my opinion I would not recommend them.

The insurance adjuster completed his work on May 3, 2011.  We signed a contract with Precision on May 23, 2011, (which indicated a cost to replace well above the initial adjuster's report). They told us they would work out the difference with the insurer and the roof, as best I remember, would probably be installed in early to mid August.  Precision is designated by our insurer as one of 10-12 (I believe) companies in our area as a "preferred provider". On June 2, we were told by the insurer that no information had been received from Precision challenging the initial adjuster's opinion and that, as a result of that delay, our claim was being closed for lack of activity.  We were told by Precision on June 12 that all the necessary information and photographs would be sent to the insurer "that week". The documentation did not reach the insurer until after June 27th.  The revised insurance company report was received on August 6, 2011. Work was scheduled to begin in early September, but did not actually being until about Sept. 12.

On the first day, Precision sent a crew of 4 or 5 people. We were told it would take 3 days, maybe 4.  The second day, there were 3 people.  I called to complain about this and was told the whole crew would be back and our job was not being slighted. That proved to be inaccurate. There was never again even 4 people working on our roof all day.  After that first day, we never had more than 3 roofers here (unless a 4th came by for a couple of hours in the early evening) and sometimes not even that.

On one day in particular, the entire crew (3) vanished for about 1 1/2 to 2 hours, not during a normal lunch period. I called the "field supervisor" and he did not know they had left, where they had gone or why.  He said he would find out.  A couple of hours later he called me back and asked me if they had returned. I told him they had. He did not know where they had gone or why. None of the three could/would respond to my questions about their absence, who their supervisor was or the time required to complete the work they were doing; they indicated to me that none of them assigned to our job spoke English, saying only "boss coming". I never talked with or even saw the "boss" they mentioned.

The job was started I believe on a Monday morning and was finished the following Saturday afternoon about 4 PM.   During those days, significant amounts of damaged roofing had been thrown to the ground where it laid for a day or two. A very large blue tarp that was used to cover areas exposed to the elements was thrown off the roof and onto two bushes (not visiable from inside our house-it was brought to my attention by a neighbor). In addition, their compressor leaked gasoline at 5 or 6 places in our yard, killing the grass almost immediately.  As a result of all of this, our landscapping particularly around the house, was damaged beyond survival by the "scorching" of the grass by the hot shingles from the roof, gasoline leaking, and several sizable branches were broken off the bushes. In addition, the crew was as sloppy as any I have seen (we have had 4 roofs replaced in our lifetime and we never had an experience like we did with Precision).  Empty water bottles, crushed cigarette packs, fast food wrappers, etc. found their way to the front yard during the day; and on two days (evenings), the trash was not picked up, nor were the remnents of the old roof; everything simply stayed where it fell/was dropped/was thrown. I took numerous digital photos of all of this and sent them to Precision's management.

When one of the Precision field supervisors returned on Monday morning (following completion on Saturday), and inspected the work, he said it looked fine.  He called me later that day and said he was going to send some people out on Tuesday to fix some things. They (2,  I believe) showed up on Tuesday and spent about 2 or 3 hours on the roof.  In addition, the insurer sent out an inspector a couple of days later and found a couple of additional, but not immediately critical, items needing repair. The inspector took care of these himself.

Precision did agree to have our lawn areated and reseeded and a sprinkler head replaced which had been cracked when run over by their truck. I chose not to pursue the matter of the crushed bushes because, as a matter of fact, we had discussed replacing them anyway.  While our neghbors were having their roofs installed in 3 or 3 1/2 days, ours took 5 1/2 days, plus the subsequent repairs to the work completed, so 6 days in all, even though the 3 man crew did work most evenings until about 8:30. This unusually long time to complete the work was, I believe, due primarily to the lack of people assigned to our job and an apparent lack of timely supervison.
Response from Precision Roofing
"As a result of the hail storm in April of 2011 the member contracted us to replace his roof. We did come by referral to him from his insurance company. At the time of the initial visit we inspected the roof and checked the adjustment done by his insurance companies adjuster. We did find several items that were omitted and we did rectify that with the insurance carrier. This caused no issue and did not cost the member any additional funds. As a result of the size of the storm and the number of homes damaged, our schedule did take longer to begin work than we originally told the member. We did communicate this to the member and apologize for the delays. He said he understood. The installation was done during a time when temperatures reached 100 degrees and it did take longer to complete the work than we expected. We have our guys take frequent breaks for their safety. I have apologized to the member for his frustration. The insurance company sent an inspector to inspect the entire job and found no issues. We did have damage to some areas in the yard as a result of the high temperatures. We also broke a sprinkler head when materials were delivered. We paid for corrections on all damages. The member has paid for the work and has been issued a warranty that is not only backed by us, but also, is backed by his insurance company. If there are any further issues please let us know and we will be happy to meet and make any corrections needed. Mike Weber Precision Roofing"

They were good. They salesman was very knowledgeable, and they were quite thorough. I appreciated the education process, and they really took their time. It has been 4 years now and we have not had any problems. Although they did leave debris in the attic space, I was happy with their work overall. Their workers did not speak English, so I would have preferred that they had at least one person or foreman who spoke English fluently so I could communicate with them. However, they did work very quickly and I would consider using them again.

They were here and gone with no trouble. They were one of the few people I found that was willing to repair the roof - everyone else wanted to put a whole new roof on. They were able to come out within a couple of days after I called them and also willing to work with me.

We had several companies come in and finally selected two companies. One of them is Precision Roofing. Both of them were very professional, very clean and seemed to know what they were talking about. But we selected precision because they had good reputation. It's been five years that the work is done but we never had any problem. They were very punctual because they set up a date when they will be coming in here. They got one or two days before that and they finished the work on time. They even came on a Sunday and did the roof. They finished the work by Monday and did the inspection of the work.

First of all, Jason, the sales rep. I worked with was great about researching what materials would be best for this roof. He was always available to answer my many questions and would follow up by contacting the appropriate people to take care of any concerns. The men who actually installed the roof worked hard, did a good job, kept my yard neat and clean, and were polite and professional. The new roof looks very good. I might rate the quality as A- instead of A only because there are still some low areas in my roof that I thought would be fixed, however, maybe this is as good as they could get them. Overall, a good experience and good job.

He informed me that I didn't have to pay up-front, that we would only pay him, when the work was actually completed. He even informed us that for the insurance of his company, that he would have the insurance company mail us a form, saying that they were covered. They were even very willing to speak with my insurance adjuster, to get the claim put through (after another company had told me that this is something that they do).

I received a quick response and estimate of the work. However when I called to schedule the work, the office staff had no knowledge or record of my estimate. After contacting Joe, issue was resolved. He called and gave me a day notice of when he would be performing the work. The roof looked good after the repair and no obvious debris was left. However, I did find three nails on the driveway. During the next hard rain, the area around the chimney leaked again! I called the office number and Joe promptly returned my call. He said he would be out in the next couple of days to try and fix it for the second time. He came out a week after the contact for the second repair. There is still a small leak.

The estimate was the cheapest of four I received, although some adjustments had to be made in the proposal. It still ended up being cheaper than the others, and the gentleman who performed the estimate was professional and courteous. The work was performed in a timely manner. I was kept informed of everything that was happening. One of the workers accidentally put a hole in my attic ceiling, and the company made sure that it was promptly taken care of. The cleanup could have been better, but the overall job was well done.
