We met with Julia on our initial visit on Friday, March 27th, 2014 and handed over our tax information for 2014 Tax Return. At that time, Julia stated she would be able to help us out in the short timeframe, and be able to make some changes to our small business for our benefit. She mentioned she would need to review all of our information and would be in contact the following week to discuss price and timing of the return. 1 day later I came across some additional tax information that Julia would need so I emailed them to her. No response was received confirming she received the information. I called the office the following Monday to verify she received the information, and I was informed that Julia received over 200 emails a day and it would be better for me to email the assistant instead. I did that, and still no response of receipt. The following week on April 7th, I called the office to get an update on the tax return, and was told by the assistant that it was in progress but not update could be given at that time. I also asked about the additional information I submitted and if they received it and the response I got from the assistant "we probably did, but it's buried in our paperwork, could give detail about what information was sent and I will make sure Julia received it". I felt frustrated by the way communication and information has been handled, that I emailed Julia directly explaining my concerns and their lack of communication throughout this process and asked for her to call me anytime the next day to discuss. I received a reply from Julia the same evening explaining that there were no issues with our return and she would be in contact with me the next morning. 2 days later, still no response from Julia or her staff, I emailed her back expressing my need to pick up my tax information the following morning at 9am and take my business elsewhere. A brief reply from her was sent stating, my taxes were does and I would have been notified the next day, and it was up to me if I wanted to take my business elsewhere. Still no mention of price and no apology for the communication breakdown. I went into Julia's office the following morning at the time indicated to her and picked up my tax information. Julia was not present when I made my visit. Julia's business may run and work for her, but I prefer not to be associated with a business that provides this type of service.
"I am very sorry that you were not satisfied with our services. We did receive your tax return information on March 27th. At that time, I stated we would do our best to complete your returns by April 15th. I also stated that your fee would be approximately $300.00. On Monday April 7th, I did reassure you that everything was going well with your taxes. I was in the office working when you came to pick up your tax documents. You did not ask to speak with me. Your tax returns were complete and ready to be picked up. You chose to leave the completed returns and did not pay us for our work."
