We live in a house built in 1923, which we purchased 19 years ago. With stone basement we have had major foundation work completed in the basement 12 years ago, so I am familar with the general process.
Provider was chosen based upon list of references and phone call with 2 references. At time of contract signing, provided committed to getting work completed within 3 weeks. Provider initially committed to date of September 9th to complete estimated 4-6 hour job. Provider never contacted us to inform us the could not make that date. It wasn't until I contacted Scott the evening of 9-8th that I was told their crew was not available. After 3-4 calls, all of which I initiated, on 9-19, Scott committed a crew on the morning of 9-22, beginning at 11:00 am. I specifically asked if we needed to have someone at home and was told not until 4:00 pm to ensure they could get in the house to measure for squareness at the end of the project. . 
At 9:00 am on the 22nd, Scott called and indicated the crew was on site. I reminded him that he had told us that we didn't have to be there. Around 12:30, Scott called again and indicated they needed to get inside to check for squareness as they were done. My wife provided the location of our extra key as neither of us could get away from scheduled meetings. 
When I returned home the evening of the 22nd I discovered:
some questions whether the work was performed to 1 of the 3 piers
dirt piled up around the other 2 wood piers 
Back door alignment changed so much the deadbolt will not lock
I met Scott at the house on 9-23, he was very confrontational. When I explained that all of the concerns could have been avoided if he simply would have had the crew performing the work call me, his response was you told us you were not available to meet at the house.
Provider was paid for work but I will not use their services again.
