ZIPZAP TERMITE AND PEST CONTROL

Horrible. They said they came, but there was no sign that they were ever there. When I requested their written documentation, they became hostile on the phone and refused to send copies of their paperwork. I had to hire a different inspection company to check for termites. They showed no signs of termite damage. Zip Zap is a Flip Flop.

They never came back to check the traps per their agreement. When I requested written documentation of their inspections, they refused to provide it. But they had the audacity to send me a bill to try to sign me up for another year of service.

They heated my house. After the work was done and I came back home it appeared they had "ransacked" my linen closet and clothes drawers. They threw everything onto the floor. Don't believe that was very professional. I signed up to have them come back out for more services. When the time came for them back out to do more work, I had missed the date by a few days. I contacted the company to schedule, he told me since I had missed the original appt that I he would to charge me a different rate then previously discussed rate. BUT the big thing is, I STILL have the bed bugs after spending $1,500 for them to get rid of the issue.

Jeff came on time and ready to go.  They left the house in good shape considering all they did.  I am very please with Zip Zap and would highly recommend them again.

The owner Jeff is an entomologist, that is how I found him originally. My 2 yr old daughter had been bitten overnight in her bed twice in a 1 week period. After the second episode, I stayed up late the next night checking her bed every 15 mins. I thought I was looking for bed bugs. I caught a critter in her bed and stored it alive in a plastic container. I didn't know what I had and I was frantic to find out what it was. I searched the internet and called around the next day until I found an extermination company in the KC area that had an entomologist. After speaking with Jeff, I drove to the company's location in north KC and dropped off the specimen. He called me later that day to inform me that it was a flea, specifically a cat flea. Three days later, when they came out to treat my house, I was surprised to find that it was Jeff that was doing the actual extermination. He said he doesn't always do the service, but he thought I might have a lot of questions. He was right. I asked a lot of questions which he answered very patiently. The service of treating took less time than all the questions I asked. I have two children under the age of three, so I was very concerned about the chemicals he was using, their efficacy and potential harm to children (minimal). Since I have no animals/pets, I wondered how the flea(s) had gotten in to our house (likely hitched a ride, squirrels and other animals carry the cat flea). Jeff explained the process thoroughly - how to prepare the house for treatment, ways to control flea populations, he explained the entire life-cycle of the flea and how they would eradicate it from inside the house and what he would do on the outside to minimize the chance of fleas returning. Their spray treatment kills fleas at 2 of their 4 live cycle stages. Jeff said that because of this, we may see a brief re-emergence of the fleas at anywhere from 7 to 19 days after application, but the newly emerging fleas would be killed by the treatment for up to 30 days. It's day 22 and no re-emergence. Jeff and Zipzap did a great job for us!

I've used ZipZap twice. Once in the Fall of '06 and again in Early Spring of '07. Each time, I had contacted them both by phone and by email. And each time it took at least three tries to have someone call me back to set an appointment. Once Jeff finally made it out here, they sprayed and took care of my problems. Once you're able to make contact and ZipZap comes out to perform the services -- they do a great job. Just be patient on the response time. I know how hectic it can be for small businesses, but maybe have someone available to return calls and at least be able to set an appointment. They are a good company and they do good work.

Excellent work. Knowledgeable (board certified entomologist). We've also used them in the past for termite inspection; they use a scent trained dog. Reliable, courteous, and prompt.
