We thought the cost of around $1700 would get get us quality inspection of visible components of the house, it did not. It turns out they did not comment on a crack noticeable in our sump closet that extends the full portion of our downstairs wall (mostly concealed by drywall). The picture taken of our sump closet noting minor mold shows the crack. When I went to clean this mold I found the crack looked worrisome and was easily able to see enlarging of the crack behind the finished wall. We had to take the drywall out and will have around $5000 in repairs (epoxy/fiberglass tape crack, redo the wall) for something that should’ve been caught on inspection. The foundation repair team even stated this crack should’ve been caught on inspection. After discussing this with Pillar to Post, they insisted that this crack did not have red flags to note in the report despite extension out of view, repair of crack near this crack, deflection of crack, and enlarging of the crack that was visible before I even removed the drywall. Would recommend people to shop elsewhere for home inspection as they are not willing to own their mistake
