I will not explain in detail, but give this company at least a chance for an estimate. Very honest.

Terrific experience.  The work was completed in a matter of days.  The workers kept the space clean, despite all of the dry wall that was sanded.  In fact, they specifically chose a product that caused the dust to drop straight down, rather than fly around the room.  The work was of high quality.

Jeff was professional and did excellent work.  The cabinets look like new and he had a real eye for design.  For instance, he suggested extending the granite countertop to make a bar for eating.  He consulted with me on the choice of granite and the entire color scheme for the kitchen.  He creatd a beautiful tile back splash that he designed himself.  The kitchen is exactly what I wanted.  Natural colors and modern.  He and his crew were kept the work space incredibly clean and they were able to complete the project in 2 weeks.   He really has a gift for aesthetics and has great taste.  I appreciated his creativity.

Jeff was realistic when he provided the estimate in that the old cast iron plumbing was hidden behind walls and an old 3" thick concrete floor.  He provided the homeowner the best and wort case scenario estimates to prepare for the reality of the work.  Jeff stuck to the estimate when the invoice was issued.  Jeff was willing to take work (mostly plumbing) and allow the homeowner to complete other work DIY.  The homeowner needed work scheduled and performed on a holiday weekend and Jeff was very willing to be flexible with scheduling.  The homeowner was pressed for time since this was the only full bathroom in the house.  Jeff worked very late into the night to complete this work.  Jeff attempted to apply the best case scenario (lowest cost) and not have to demo the ceiling on the first floor; however, Jeff was honest and advised the homeowner well into the project that the best solution was to remove all cast iron fittings up to the straight drop on the first floor which was hard advise since it added cost and time to the project.  This decision gave the homeowner peace of mind and confidence in the work.  Jeff did the work himself and communicated with the homeowner throughout the process.  The homeowner recieved great value from this service.

This contractor was priced fairly, and did a decent job. He also came back to grab a few things that I pointed out that were missed the first time.

They started with a bang and I was pretty impressed, but that didn't last long. Over the 4th of July holiday they just wandered off and instead of returning in 4 days as promised, it was maybe 2 weeks. They broke a window and left it that way, though they did come back and replace it when I pointed it out. They also painted all the windows shut and I had to ask them to fix that as well. The owner is very personable and pleasant, but "we'll be there Tuesday" often didn't happen. The final product was sloppy and, frankly, I don't feel anyone would believe I paid approximately $3200 to have work done or even that I had anything done at all. They didn't calk the windows when they put them back and there's a lot of daylight around the frames. (I guess that's my project before the north wind blows.) The windows were off the house for so long the painting they did in the sills was dirty by the time the storms went back up. When they were going great guns (the first week?) I thought of having them do some interior painting for me--I even talked to him about it--but I reconsidered and did NOT have them do the additional work. This was a small job that shouldn't have dragged out for a month or more. I didn't see the gaps around the windows until I had paid for the work. I kick myself for not having examined the job more closely before I wrote that final check. A coworker was waiting to see how satisfied I was with the job--I recommended he find someone else to do his work. I hate sending this negative report out into the ethers, but this is a true accounting of my experience.

He gave us an estimate as well as did the work. The work went okay. He had one of the lower prices in the area, and I think his quality probably reflected that. There were a few areas of hardwood floor that we were not really happy with, and we have had trouble getting him to come back to fix them. Overall, I guess we are okay with what he has done for the price, but the quality was not really up to what we had expected. We would not use him in the future.

It was great. Jeff is very professional and has the customers best interest in mind. The work was done in a very timely manner. I would highly recommend. He can take on just about any project you have.
