I had a contemporary lamp repaired at a shop near The Light Shop, but also needed a shade. The lamp was contemporary, and the other shop mentioned that The Light Shop might have more contemporary shades. I walked a block to The Light Shop and found a lot of contemporary items, including a shade that is better (better color, better size) than the original shade with the lamp. In addition, they suggested the shade be mounted higher on the lamp (a great move, it got the top of the shade away from the light sockets so much less glare, and gave a more balanced look to the lamp). They found and cut to size, a threaded tube to extend the shade upward, and then found and cut to size, a chrome-colored tube to put over it, to more closely match the lamp color and material, and put it all together for me. They only charged me $5.00 for the extension work. I was so pleased I bought a set of four 22x22 contemporary framed photos (25% off) for my home's walls. I asked them if they do lamp repair, and they said absolutely, their repairs start at $25. I wish I had used them for the repair too.
