THE CLOCK SHOP
About us
We are a 5 generation family owned and operated business serving KC since 1905. We specialize in repair of new and antique clocks. Our location at the 6207 Oak building that we were in for over 70 years had a fire in 2017. We are currently located 1/2 block north, just on the corner from there at 6155 Oak. We provide free estimates on repairs. We also do in home service on Grandfather clocks.

When I called the Clock Shop to inform them of this situation, they merely blew-off my problem, and said that it wasn't anything they could have done to the clock. And, furthermore, if I wanted them to come back out to look at the clock --- they would have to charge me another service fee.
Given their attitude towards customer service, and the lack of follow-up on service issues, i will never use them again, nor would I recommend them to any others in need of similar services.
This is a truly terrible way to run a business!
This woman is the daughter of the previous proprietor who cleaned/repaired an old clock for me at least 15 years ago. At that time he was courteous and professional and told me a little of the history of my old 'plastic' clock and gave me an instant appraisal.
I have had nothing but good experiences with this shop; when many mom-pop businesses are kaput, they're still on Oak Street, still friendly and still in business. Sometimes people are unhappy with professionals who give an unbiased opinion--because it's not the opinion they're hoping for. Age itself does not automatically make something valuable to the general marketplace. Market conditions change over time, of course. Any professional worth his/her salt does not try to rip someone off and then turn around and make a pile of money--word gets around and reputation is ruined.
