Sitting Comfortably Pet Care is a professional pet care service, offering many services that can be customized to fit you and your furry loved one’s needs! Our Services include, but are not limited to: Midday and After Hours Pet Sitting Visits, Midday Dog Walks, Overnight Pet Care (in YOUR home), Private Boarding (in a SITTER’S Home), Emergency Visits, Secure Key/Code Lock-up, Weekly/Monthly Packages, and MORE!! Sitting Comfortably's office hours are from 8am - 6pm Monday - Friday and on 8am - noon on Saturday. We are closed on Sunday. We do, however, service client homes and pets 24 hours a day / 7 days a week.

"Hello, It was recently brought to our attention that this review was posted by a former client with Sitting Comfortably Pet Care. We greatly appreciate her feedback and wish to respond. Although we never received a complaint from this client during the few years her fur babies were in the care of Sitting Comfortably, we are familiar with the incident that took place serveral years ago that directly impacted another client who had also been apart of the SCPC extended family for a few years. This is very likely because the sitter assigned to her home was not the same sitter assigned to her friend's home. The client impacted received our deepest regrets and sincere apology for the unfortunate, unforeseen and completely unacceptable experience with our company. When they returned home, they immediately reached out to us regarding their experience. We were shocked and extremely heartbroken!! We expressed this to them and tried our best to reconcile the relationship, with the ultimate goal to correct the wrong! When businesses experience growth, we open our doors to hire individuals who we trust to carry on the mission and uphold our Standards of Excellence. It is a risk, yes, but every business owner knows that with success, you have to be courageous enough to take risks. We have 20+ Team Members employed with our company and although candidates impress you on paper and with their words during the interview, pass the extensive background checks, and sit through orientation and job shadowing sessions, things can still go wrong. In this case, it did. The Sitter's character and integrity were compromised as well as the business reputation with this client. Needless to say, the Sitter was terminated immediately. We are pride ourselves on being a professional pet care company with an established and excellent reputation in the community. A person can walk into Target or Walmart and have a negative experience with one of their workers. A complaint is filed and the employee is reprimanded (as what took place with our company). In most cases, the person will return to Target or Walmart knowing that was an isolated incident and not a recurring service expectation. We are passionate about caring for our Client's home and pets and simply pray this one incident does not negatively impact the perception one should have regarding Sitting Comfortably Pet Care, LLC. We wish this client, the client impacted, and everyone's fur babies the very best. I did not write a review after this happened because it was such a bad experience. As I now need a pet sitter again I started searching and when I saw the "A" rating for this company I felt others should know my experience.
I hired Sitting Comfortably to watch my cat overnight while I was away for 9 days. The main reasons I chose to hire a sitter is because my cat is 18, she takes medication twice daily and I had moved into a new home 3 weeks prior to my trip and it has stairs (which she had never had before). I decided it would be most beneficial to have someone stay overnight to help keep the kitty company as well. I met with Sommer for the initial consultation and was told she and her husband would most likely perform the actual sitting for my pet, but if they did not I could meet the sitter they would assign. I emailed to confirm the night before I left to make sure they would be coming. The next day when I arrived at my destination I sent a text to ensure my cat would be receiving the overnight visits. They responded yes, that was what was on the schedule. I had some sort of contact daily to make sure the cat was doing well. On the day before I was to return I received a text stating the sitter had been coming every 12 hours for meds and my cat was doing well. I quickly realized someone had not been staying overnight with her and Sommer was not her sitter. I contacted Sommer immediately. She stated she had had a family emergency and had been at the hospital a lot so my cat was reassigned and her husband had shown the new sitter what to do. She thought the new sitter was staying overnight. She contacted her husband and he did not relay the overnight visit part to the new sitter. They accepted full responsibility, apologized and did not charge me for their services.
The apology and free service does not make up for the fact my pet wasn’t cared for as I had anticipated. I made it very clear how important my cat was to me in every email and during the consultation. I never met the sitter who cared for her as I was told I would. I left a note about the cat and things to do around the home. I could tell the cat had not been brushed (even though I mentioned it twice in my notes). I had a friend stopping by my house daily to play with the cat. They noticed that the small pile of mail and papers grew to a large stack the night before I came home (after my heated call with Sommer). I stated to give her treats before bed – this should have been an indication that they would be there at bedtime. The cat did not get the interaction or care I thought she would.
This was my first experience using a pet sitter and will most likely be my last. I used this company due to all their rave reviews on Angie’s List. While my cat did receive the necessities of food, water and medication – she did not get the level of service that was agreed upon. If the sitter who actually cared for her would not have sent me a text, I would have paid the full price of overnight care which wasn’t delivered. Sommer also did not appreciate the fact the sitter was honest with me and told me to only communicate with herself. I felt communication was not her strong suit since she was trying to resolve the situation and avoid me telling people I am sure. I recall filling out quite a few sheets of information for them AND I left a very detailed note about the home and cat. I listed a local emergency contact – they could have called her about their “family emergency”. They also had my phone number. This communication error should not have occurred and when my pet suffers the consequences I could not overlook the issue.
I was no longer able to trust someone with this older cat so I took no further trips until her passing. I now have new kittens and while I need someone to look after them while I take a vacation. I would never consider this company again and it is unfortunate for other good sitters out there because I do not trust anyone to do as they say they will.
