Seal Rite Windows

It has been a little while since this work was done and I have been meaning to leave a review. We had repair done to many windows in an old house. Overall it took something like 3-4 months to get the job done; rather than send a few competent individuals the guy that showed up to do the work didn't show up on the days he said he would and was hours late on the days he did. He made a mess and did not ever clean up and broke an old original, large window they had to replace (which took a long time to get). It did not seem like the owner was aware that the guy was not coming to work so after talking with him it did get better. Some of the work seems acceptable; we had to repaint areas around where he had worked and we still had to go back and seal many of the windows he worked on which is ironic considering that is the name of their business. The photo I have included is of ice on the inside of a window they fully replaced.

It was wonderful.  They are very pleasant to work with.

Needed wood rot fixed below two windows in the front of our home.  Saw a coupon in a magazine and called Seal Rite.  Spoke with a sales rep, who was nice and professional.  He showed up on schedule and quoted $450 to fix the rotten wood under the windows.







About two weeks later, a construction worker from the company came out to do the work.  He was also on schedule and professional.  He started to do the work the in the morning and told me he would be done around three.







Around three o'clock, Josh, the owner of the company shows up at my house.  He tells my husband that there is way more water damage then he expected.  He gives us a proposal for almost $3,000.00 to fix it.







He then says it is supposed to rain tomorrow, so we better let him know something by tonight.  He and the construction worker left our home with the wood under the window uncovered and debris from the work on the ground.







After he left, we called another company that specializes in wood rot (an A-rated provider).  The person from this company agreed there was water damage, but said a lot of what was quoted was not needed and was on the very high end of pricing.







We told Josh that we were going with another company and he was adamant that we pay the $450, which was basically demolition work and not repair.  We paid the bill just to be done with our dealings with the company.







We did not consult Angie's List before hiring this company, since the estimate was pretty low.  However, after seeing other reviews, we wish we would have.  We are very pleased with the A-List providers work, which was considerably lower than Seal Rite.

We started process the beginning of May. After repeatedly failing to show up, respond to voicemail and email, and missing deadlines, the first attempts to complete the work were shoddy. After constant prodding and finally working with the manager instead of the owner, the work was completed - badly. Some of the work will have to be corrected, but it won't be by this firm. We don't trust them to do it right

  We would be much better off if we had never hired this company in the first place.    They did more damage than they fixed.    Now we cannot open the window,  it very nearly fell off the house and hurt my husband when we tried this.     The interior damage to the windowsill was expensive to repair
