SAINTS PAINTING & REMODELING

Matt Cody and one helper did the work. Matt was busy doing other jobs much of the time. He was trying to get other work done due to rain delays, so this impacted the timing of the work on our interior job. We were going to use Saints Painting for the exterior but were concerned about the schedule and their ability to focus resources on our job. Our relationship ended, and we selected another exterior painter who was excellent.

The room took a little longer than planned. But we added crown molding, a 3rd coat of paint , a different color to the island and glazing on all the cabinet doors. Matt did a great job. He was flexible as we made changes during the project.

Overall Mr. Cody did a good job of painting and wood replacement and the debris was cleared away promptly. The work site was neat. The original contract stated he would "scrape and power sand loose paint, taking care to minimize dust of previous lead paint coating. After collecting the first installment on the contract I was informed he had decided NOT to sand but would "give" me an extra coat of primer. The result was very rough looking and not what I had expected. At the end of the job some storm windows hadn't been replaced and it took several calls to get this done. One set had been installed on the garage rather than the house and Mr. Cody's suggestion was that I buy a new set for the house rather than moving the incorrectly installed one. He finally moved the set to the correct window. A window sill had been removed and not replaces. After several calls, Mr. Cody finally came out and cobbled together an inside sill using what looked like scrap wood. There is still no outside sill. This was not acceptable and looks horrible. After several e-mails, Mr Cody finally replied with a very, to me, insulting e-mail and has, so far, declined to replace the complete sill in the correct manner. My only recourse seems to be to hire a carpenter to correct Mr. Cody's inept job. Another expense for me.

It went great. We were gone for a week and when we returned the house looked great. Matt then came back and prepped and painted a new front door with sidelights that we installed. Doing over again, I would have him install the door too. We would recommend him to anyone.

Really nice job. Matt was very careful (lots of cut in's on this house, while it's not very big, it has 29 windows to paint around)and worked hard. He did exactly what we agreed on up front, in the timeframe he estimated at the beginning, and was pleasant to have around (my wife works from home, as do many of our neighbors, so not having a blasting radio all day long was really appreciated). We called two reference for him, and the one my wife talked to couldn't praise him enough, and we understand why. We'd recommend him to anyone!
