PRESTON'S GENERAL CONTRACTING

The experience was not good. They did not keep to their timeline. They did extra work without telling us a price before they did it. They didn't complete the job. They requested money throughout the job without telling us that they would be doing that. We found out after we hired another company to come in to fix things that they had done our plumbing wrong. There was a lot of issues. I would tell other members to not use them.

WORK WENT WELL AT FIRST, AND JAY OFFERED A LOT OF SUGGESTIONS AND WENT THROUGH ALL THE OPTIONS WITH ME. BUT JAY DIDN'T FOLLOW MY DIRECTIONS FOR THE NEW CABINET, AND WHEN I INSISTED HE RE-DO IT, EVERYTHING GROUND TO A HALT. A SMALL JOB WHICH WAS PROMISED WITHIN ONE MONTH EVENTUALLY TOOK OVER EIGHT MONTHS. THE QUALITY OF WHAT WAS DONE WAS GOOD, BUT A LOT OF FINISH WORK WAS LEFT UNDONE AND I HAD TO DO IT MYSELF. JAY WANTED MORE MONEY FOR RE-DOING THE CABINET, AND I ORIGINALLY AGREED TO HELP WITH THE COST, BUT IN THE END I ONLY PAID THE AMOUNT ORIGINALLY AGREED TO BECAUSE I HAD TO LIVE WITH A HALF-FINISHED BATHROOM FOR MONTHS. JAY INSISTED I SHOULD PAY MORE THAN THE ORIGINAL ESTIMATE, BUT I WOULDN'T. THIS WAS A SMALL JOB FOR HIM, AND I THINK IT JUST GOT LOST WITH OTHER THINGS HE WAS DOING, AND GOT NO PRIORITY.
