Pete & Mac's Pet Resort

My dog, Lilly, goes here every Wednesday.  I arrive at 6:30 am and the staff is there and ready to go.  They know me and my dog and that is just based on one visit each week.  They have a 'frequent flyer card', so that you have it initialed and when completed, you get a free daycare visit. Used their groomer for nail trims and once for trimming of hair.  Very good job. I read other reviews on this site and I feel that some of the contributors are overly sensitive.  My dog really looks forward to going to 'school' and you can usually tell if them really don't want to be there.  Frankly, handling dogs is hard work, there is usually a bathroom accident, disagreement or something else going on, but the Staff seems to be on top of all the issues.  I have trust and confidence in the Staff and facility. I highly recommend their services.  The grade of 'B' is very unfortunate and doesn't reflect the good service and care provided.  Stop by there and see for yourself!

We just started a dog training session with them.   We were very pleased with the first week’s session of dog obedience. One thing we like is that if you call on the phone to ask how the dog was doing we would get a report.

One of the dogs we boarded passed away while at their facility. On their website it says 24/7 supervision and it turned out not to be. Our dog passed away in the night from bloat, which if caught and treated might not of killed him. He was completely heathy when we dropped him off. They were very good people and very sympathetic with us. I would have no bad feelings towards them except that they should of checked on ALL the dogs during the night. Our dog might of still passed even if they checked on him, but I would maybe feel better if I knew they tried to help him. Our other dog was healthy and physically fine when we picked him up. The staff was professional and handled the situation as well as anybody could.

Their boarding costs $20 a day and their groomers are pretty good.

This was my second time using them, and everything went well. They allowed my dog to have playtime with other dogs, the facilities were clean and spacious, and my dog was clean and healthy when I picked him up.

It is professionally run and a quality establishment.

I was asked to go an retrieve my cat from his cage when we arrived. He smelled and reeked of urine as I carried him out, and I noticed his back quarters and tail were soiled and covered in dried vomit. They said he had been sick in his cage and hadn't had a chance to clean him. When I got him home I bathed him and brushed him. The vomit had been dried on for quite some time so I called Pete and Macs to ask how long he laid in his vomit and why he smelled so bad. I was told that since he is quite a large cat and is very vocal (yes he has a loud voice) they don't clean him or his litter box if he doesn't want them to. Quite frankly she said it was because they are afraid of him. We were so disappointed to hear this. We have entrusted Pete and Macs with our pets for several years and assumed they were getting good care. No one volunteered to give me any negative feedback until I initiated the conversation. If they would have been honest with me II would gladly have taken him to board at the vet rather than leave him some place that gives him no care whatsoever. If your business is to take care of animals then do your job. If you feel the animal is a threat refuse to board it; don't just stick it in a cage and leave it until the owner returns. We won't be taking either animal to this facility again. And by the way, no one said they were sorry for sending him home in such a disgusting condition.

I am pleased with the results and would use them again, however I was a little disappointed that they did not call me when my cat was finished as they said they would.

I use them about once a month. I also use their doggy daycare services. My experience has been very good.

They did really well. I decided to use them because they had an outdoor facility for him to go to instead of being stuck inside all day. I had also read some reviews online for them on Angie's List. They seem to genuinely care about the animals. The dog is like an extension of our family and we wanted him to be well taken care of, and he was very happy. The staff was very helpful. I called once to check on my pet and they were very helpful and gave all information. They gave a report when he left the place on how he did and how he ate. I was pleased.

The staff is all knowledgeable and make it a point to get to the dogs. They do a good job associating pet with owner and vice versa. They also offer obedience training, making it a one stop shop.

It went great. When I dropped the dogs off, they came out to greet them and take them back. Everyone was friendly and seemed happy to be around pets. When I picked up the dogs, they were well groomed and well cared for. Pete and Macs called up after they had been home for a while to make sure everything was still good. They have a play area and run daycare as well, so the pets that are boarded get out to play and mix with other pets during their stay. You can choose different size rooms, and I was able to board both my dogs into one enclosure, something that I can't do at my Vet office. This means they're with each other just like they are at home.

Our cat has stayed for extended periods (30+ days) and has done well there. Cat boarding area is clean, well ventilated, away from dog barking, and has a huge window that overlooks bird feeders, giving the cats something to watch during the day. The cat condos have two levels, and are carpeted and seem to be comfortable. Our cat was brushed and allowed to roam freely outside her cat condo, yet in the cat area for a limited time each day. When we have called from the road, the staff has given us detailed updates on our cat. At the end of each stay, we get a report card stating what our cat enjoyed, and how she behaved and any specifics that we need to know. Pete and Mac's is a lifesaver for us as we work away from home!

Price is for a week. They show a daily report and take great care of them. They also have a great day care program.

Pete and Mac's looked like a great place and a good concept (pet resort). The staff was attentive and answered all of my questions. During the pets visit, they can participate in group play, where all of the dogs get together in a large room to play. I initially thought this was great but it turned out to be a bad decision as our dog contracted kennel cough. Afterwards I brought him to the vet, who told me the group play concept is a really bad idea. Even if vaccinated, pets can still get kennel cough very easily (our dog was vaccinated that very week!). The vet said he had seen 3 other dogs with kennel cough, all of whom stayed at Pete and Mac s during the same weekend. The kennels and staff were nice though. I should also mention that you can tell them to keep your pet out of group play, which might avoid any of the problems we experienced. Overall, I would not return as the price is a little high and I would prefer to just leave him with my vet in a standard kennel.

THEY HAVE BEEN A LIFESAVER! OUR MALTESE HAS HAD SEPARATION ANXIETY SINCE WE MOVED and SHE LOVES IT THERE. THEY PLAY WITH THE PETS and MONITOR THEM ALL THE TIME. WE GET A REPORT CARD AT THE END OF THE DAY TELLING US WHAT, and WHO, SHE PLAYED WITH. THEY ALSO INCLUDE HER PERSONALITY FOR THE DAY. IT IS OBVIOUS THEY REALLY CARE FOR YOUR PET.
