Penske Truck Rental

Very poor customer service from Penske and Home Depot - both get a huge F-, I had paid staff and materials that needed to be picked up and no truck, and the "sorry"  I received did not pay my staff to stand there doing nothing nor did it get the materials on the job - which is now delayed due to their complete inability to do what they said they would do.  If I could give a worse grade I would.  Terrible terrible terrible.  And when I called Home Depot, the vendor whose website I utilized to rent the truck through - they basically told me to call Penske, that Home Depot is just providing a parking space and an ad on their website even though the website leads us all to believe that Home Depot is part of the responsible renting party, they are not. When I asked for a cancel confirmation number I was hung up on by Renee at Home Depot and the manager on duty offered lots of apologies including for Renee but was clearly unable to do anything to rectify the situation.  The Penske manager was, according to the Home Depot manager, the regional rep for Penske and somehow responsible for rectifying the failure but I have a feeling he is just a logistics coordinator and all he does is try to get trucks to their intended rental locations by the actual renters, so my jobsite is dependent upon someone moving their home goods or curio cabinets and if they fail to return the truck I am scheduled to rent from Home Depot/Penske there is no backup plan by Penske or Home Depot  - so beware all of you truck renters out there - your job, materials or your move is dependent upon the previous renter, Home Deport and Penske are apparently not responsible for their own failures to do what their website says, a rental with them is apparently just an "I'll try to get a truck there" not a commitment to follow through and actually do anything.  Its on you when they fail.

I called the day before I needed a truck after Budget failed to get me a truck after they confirmed it. In a few minutes it was set up. I picked it up and it was a better truck, two feet longer and 20 dollars cheaper with discounts. It was a pleasure dealing with the company.

They showed up on time and were done when they said they would be. They did a great job.

They are good. We have also got pricing or quotes on renting trucks from them. Their timing is pretty good on repairs. Overall, they are pretty consistent. We have a lot of trucks that we send their way. We are on a scheduled PM cycle every 90 days. We use them probably every week because we always have trucks at different location rotating, they are on different PM schedules. Every week or everyday there is probably some type of equipment from our company at Penske Truck Rental. The price is on the lower side.
