I enlisted Heritage Landscape for mowing and general yard clean up on a short term basis. The quality of the work was adequate, but they did not finish the job in its entirety as agreed upon. In addition, there was a billing discrepancy regarding the work performed. I spoke with Ryan (last name unknown) regarding this discrepancy and he assured me that an adjusted bill would be sent. This was never done. Over a year later, I was contacted by a debt collection company regarding outstanding payment of the unadjusted bill. In addition, Heritage Landscape attempted to collect for services (totaling $750) that were never performed. I find this behavior highly questionable and very unprofessional. I advise those seeking mowing and landscape maintenance to look elsewhere.

We had our yard serviced by Miller's. Thanks to our cameras, we could see how poorly they serviced our yard. They barely went around the edges of our property. After calling and complaining, they did come back and do a better job. When we try and call and talk to someone, no one ever returns our call. We cancelled our service and then several months later they came back and serviced our yard (not authorized). Of course, they left us a bill. Stay away from this business. Since the new owners took over, things have gone down hill.

They were behind because of rain, which was ok. I had blown most of old leaves out of my yard but the expectation from our conversation was that flower beds would be cleaned of old leaves & weeds, some bushes were to be trimmed, a tree that had been cut down previously was to have the new sprouts removed & sprayed with something to prevent more growth, and they were to clear around the outside of the fence & get the weeds/ growth from fence. I was gone when they came & they just started putting down mulch without cleaning out any old debris. My husband called me & told me & I told him he needed to tell them to get the leaves removed. They did blow the piles of leaves that I had made in the back yard. No weeds were removed in my yard except for the ones I removed, the tree sprouts were not removed or treated. I did complain & they came again & removed the vines growing up the fence but I had asked for the area outside the fence to be cleaned. It just seemed like what the man & I talked about when I received the bid wasn't what was done. Also I did receive a bid to have our lawn mowed weekly & the hardscape blown off weekly. I received this bid via email & I said ok but this service to date has not been done. I didn't pursue this due to the quality of the other service but I don't know why they never mowed the lawn. Very disappointing.

very hit or miss -- sometimes work was good and sometimes awful. the reason for the low score is that Miller's is very expensive and has absolutely horrible customer service. we recently had a bill dispute and they were very disrespectful and rude, blaming the claimed dispute entirely on me. we will never, ever use them again for anything.

Miller’s Heritage Landscape has just been great. I pay for the whole year. I get a discount that way. They do a really good job. I went to another lawn care company, but that did not work out. So, that is why I went to Miller’s. I was dissatisfied with the previous one. The price is a big dollar item. I do not think they gave me any really big deals, but at the same time, they gave me what I think a fair price for what they do. The quality of their service is excellent. I would use them again next year.

They removed the snow but I thought the price was ridiculously high.I had the same job done last year for $75.00 by a different company. Miller charges $65.00 just to come out before anything is done.

I was stood up.  Had a 3:00-5:00 appt on a week day.  Phoned about 2:00 to verify worker would still be coming in that time frame, and was assured the 3-5 time was still good.  Left work at 2:30 and waited until 6:00, finally phoning their emergency number at 6:00.  I was told they had cancelled the appointment and I was supposed to have been notified.  I had to take off work again to have the sprinkler fixed, and I was not offered any discount due to my inconvenience and loss of pay.  (I notified the office to let them know about the incident).
Prior to this experience their work was satisfactory, but I will not be using them again.
This is being posted 10 months after the service since I am relatively new to Angie's list.
Response from Miller's Heritage Landscape
"We are very sorry that [member name removed] White had a negative experience with our company. We are even more disappointed that it was several months before this negative review was listed. We did give a full refund and recognized that we had an Irrigation Tech. that was failing on his job. We fixed that issue and he is no longer working for us. We are striving every day to provide the best possible service to our customers. If we make a mistake we will always acknowledge that we have and we fix the problem. If you look at our overall review in Angie's we are rated in the top 10% of all landscape contractors."

I initially contacted Miller's about lawn care, but when I found it they have a certified arborist and also provide tree services, I contracted for that also. Lawn care service includes 6 treatments a year. Grub control is part of the treatments. The six large trees will be fertilized once a year and treated with insecticide once a year also. Because of damage caused by the extreme drought last year, Miller's will also be providing core aeration, vertient, and overseeding to repair all the bare spots. I have already had two treatments and the lawn is looking much better. Personnel respond promptly and are courteous, pleasant, and very patient. Their prices for lawn care and tree service are very competitive and thus far I am very pleased.

It took a while for Scott to return my calls, but I know they're busy, and he was helpful when I talked with him. The men who came to do the work knew what they were supposed to do and went right to it. They were good at what they do. I feel that the price, while it was a little higher than what I wanted to pay, was good because it was only half of my other quotes. I would recommend them to anyone who needs landscaping work done and plan to have them come back in the fall to divide my Hostras and plant some mums.

They treated the grass by applying a chemical with a spreader towed behind a lawn tractor. The chemical was supposed to eliminate certain types of undesirable grass that makes the lawn look bad, and it had to be applied at certain times of the year for it to be effective. They started in the spring, and their last visit was in the fall. My observations were that the treatments didn’t make much of a difference to the lawn, and that they were very indiscriminate about how close to the house they came, where there were foundation plantings. Basically, they knocked out all the shrubs that were near the house, they didn’t kill them, but the shrubs shriveled up and they didn’t bloom last summer. They have recovered this year, and have flowered now, but they were in shock from the chemical. They raced through the application at lightning speed, which in my opinion resulted in the spread not being optimal, and they were not careful to avoid the foundation plantings. They showed up reliably, but I felt that their application was sloppy, haphazard, not well planned, and that the results were unnoticeable. The results were not what we had hoped for, and we couldn’t tell the difference at all. When we phoned them about the plant casualties, they offered to replace the plants, but we chose not to do that. They sent me a renewal letter which I declined, and I closed the contract.

I had a huge bare spot in the middle of the back yard.  I decided not to do the whole yard so I could stay under $1,000.  After  getting quotes I decided to go with Miller's they seemed more responsive. Kerry came-out and put stakes down and cofirmed the price.  He couldn't give me an exact date but said he would call a couple days prior to the work. It took about 3 weeks before they were able to get the work but Kerry called the dy before to let me know. They layed the sod in one day.  They left the backed yard clean.  My only mistake wasn't understanding the need to water the sod right after it was layed.  I am have been very pleased with the mIllers experience
