It went very well.  He was in contact with us prior to the inspection to discuss any concerns we may have with the house and to answer general questions about the process.  Steve was punctual and spent a considerable amount of time inspecting the property.  After the inspection, he sat down with us and spent well over an hour going over his findings.  He let us know which items were "fix now" as opposed to "fix later".  His official written report complete with pictures was sent to us the next day.  He offered follow up as we had more questions after reviewing his report.
We are very happy with the work Steve did and would recommend him to anyone that wants a very thorough inspection.

Do NOT buy a home without talking to Steve Hodgden!!   We moved to KC area this year and began the home buying process.  We were so fortunate to be referred to Steve, former President of ASHI.  We wanted an inspector that the real estate agents fear!  He REALLY knows his stuff.  He helped us avoid buying two homes that were a nightmare, with major structural damage, water leaks, foundation problems, overgrown trees, faulty wiring, and overall poor construction.  Two homeowners deliberately tried to conceal damages, but they were no match for Steve!  He finds EVERYTHING and prepares a very detailed report with photographs.  He climbs on the roof himself, even in the heat of the summer, and advises on the life expectancy of all major systems, including the roof.  When we finally purchased the home we are in, he assured us it was well built and he was right.  He is the most responsive, professional, and knowledgeable inspector we have ever met.   Always on time, returned phone calls well after the inspection.  Don't leave such an important decision as home buying to anyone but Steve.  He is on YOUR side!
