MARY'S CLEANING

We write the cheque to a person called David.  They’ve done really well.  They had great reviews on Angie’s list and we started using them, and they’ve been really good.  They are reasonably priced and they do good work.  They do what they’re here to do and so they’ve been good.  They always call and if there’s any kind of scheduling conflict, they always call ahead.

They came for some time and were satisfactory, however they reached a point where they stopped showing up when they were supposed to. The work was not always satisfactory.

We have had Mary's clean our house for about 6 months now. David and his crew are very professional and always come on time and do a great job. We had a bad experience the first time we tried a different cleaning service, and we thought we'd try one more time by checking Angie's List. Glad we did, Mary's Cleaning has been great. David has even been very patient when we accidentally left our alarm on (OOPS!) and waited patiently while waiting for us to come home and turn off that horrible sound. Quality of work is always great.

We had a messy house and asked the service to clean around the boxes. We asked for especially thorough attention to the kitchen and bathrooms.They ***rearranged*** the ***furniture*** from ***room to room***. This included them moving a very heavy sofa from the living room into the family room. They also completely rearranged the family room including moving a second large heavy sofa, our large heavy television, and breaking a lampshade. The living room and family room ended up completed reconfigured. They piled the boxes in the living room in front of our picture window. And they did not clean where we said it was most important -- not the bathrooms, not the kitchen, nothing except dusting and vacuuming the rooms they rearranged. It was the ****strangest*** thing we have ever seen in a cleaning job. We would have had them come back and fix the problem, but we never want them in our house again.

My mom used them a few times. He was used to having bigger homes to clean. He was not to thrilled about having his people come to her house. He was worked the workers hard. He drops them off and picks them up, expecting them to complete ithe job quickly. They did a very thorough job. They came when they said they would come.

My mom worked for a cleaning company years ago and knew the basics of what a housecleaning entailed. Anyway-the only really specific thing my mom requested was for the main bathroom to be really clean because our guests would be using it (obviously). Mary and 3 workers arrived on time, but she left to finish up another job after getting them started. We left too to finish some shopping, and asked them to close the door behind them when they were finished. When we came back my mom and I were both surprised at all the dirt we found. A few examples: the bathtub was not very clean, hardwood floors in the bedrooms appeared to be mopped without being swept first (leaving damp dirt & dustballs stuck to the floor), and the hardwood floors under the dining room table were still dirty, etc. Since I had paid for a deep cleaning, I expected the floors under my baby's high chair to be cleaned of dried food (just a few spots but it was very noticeable). It appeared as if they simply wiped the floors with a damp mop. I called David to share my concerns and Mary and the workers returned the next morning to correct the situation. I went through the house with her and showed her the things in almost every room that had been missed. I was thoroughly frustrated when Mary explained why one set of wood blinds in the family room hadn't been touched. She said that they were behind the TV and they don't move TV's. I totally understand that, but only about 1/8 of the blinds were actually behind the TV. There was a very large section they could've cleaned without any obstruction whatsoever, but they appeared to be using the TV as an excuse not to clean any of it. The TV itself is a huge projection big screen so there was no fear of knocking it over- just an excuse to not clean the window blinds. They did a fair job but only after returning the next morning to finish. I wonder if they cleaned poorly because my mom insisted on receiving the discount.

She is great! They are always on time, and they do a really thorough job. They are great to work with.

They did a really good job. Normally they don't want to do specific jobs like that but they agreed to do it. It wasn't cheap, but they did a good job. I think that I got my money worth. I would recommend them to others.

They are a little bit more thorough than companies I've had in the past. There's always at least 2 of them here and they are done within 2 to 3 hours. They do a pretty good job of cleaning. I'm paying them about $110 every time they come. They clean about 3000 square feet of my house. I would highly recommend them.

This group's description says there are 4 workers and no subcontractors. The man on the phone must be one, and he is not part of the cleaning process. Mary and two women came the first time. After reading the reviews on this list, we expected wonderful things. They do a lot of scurrying around and looking busy. Neither of the bathtubs were cleaned properly. The kids draw on one with bathtub crayons -- comes right off with 409. It was smeared and mostly still there when they left, meaning the dirt was there as well. On the first cleaning, they say they move everything. The small nightstands next to the bed were not moved and were obviously loaded with dust behind them. They didn't vacuum anything well, but especially the stairs. On visits two and three Mary disappeared with different excuses and left two women with zero work ethic who acted as though they did not speak English. By the third time they did so little we felt like they wanted us to give them the money for just showing up. They were upstairs with four bedrooms, two baths, a hallway, a laundry room, and a stairway for 45 minutes. I checked the master tub and it was covered with dust. One woman said the other had "wiped" it. The kicker was that the price was originally $120 with $5 more if they went over the walkout, most of which is never used, for dust. This was my daughter's home. She was away, and Mary insisted to me that it was $135 - $140 and wanted the pay up front so she could leave. This was a disgusting experience, the worst I've ever had with cleaning people. I can only imagine the people who rated them highly had them come only once and didn't have very high standards. To anyone who actually hires them, watch to see if they are just moving around or if they are actually cleaning.

The first visit cost $150.00 to detail clean kitchen, living room, entry, family room, rec. room, and finished basement w/1/2 bath. They have been cleaning bi-monthly at a cost of $90.00. They do very good work. The workers are trustworthy. I highly recommend them.

Came with only one day's notice. Friendly, on-time, thorough.

They did an excellent job and it was well worth it for the money.

We found Mary's Cleaning on Angie's List and have been extremely happy with them. We weren't sure if we would be able to find a cleaning service that we would be happy with because we like things VERY clean and have two big dogs that share our house. But after reading other reviews we thought we'd give Mary and her crew a try and we are so happy we did! They do a really great job every week. Usually three women show up and spend at least two hours (our house is about 2500 sq ft) scrubbing and cleaning everything. The only small thing that I'd change if I could is that some of Mary's crew are afraid of our dogs so we usually have to leave them out or put them in the basement on cleaning day, but it's minor thing. Overall, they are really fantastic.

They were running late, but called twice to let me know where they were at in their schedule. Mary and two of her team arrived and started cleaning. They started at 3:00 pm and finished at 10:00 pm. They worked so hard, they did not waste anytime or take a break. They were amazing. I have ask Mary to put me on a weekly schedule. My house has not been this clean in the entire 20 years I have lived here. HIRE HER!

They do a better job than most cleaners I've had. I don't have to go around and check up on them. They come in and do their work and leave.

The three ladies arrived and got right to work, they were quiet and efficient. They started in the upper rooms then the main floor and finished with the basement. With each room I was amazed at what all they cleaned picking up cords and dusting from ceiling to floor. It was a wonderful experience for my first time and I plan to have them on a regular basis. They even made fancy little towel art in each bath.

Mary's Cleaning came the day before my guests were to arrived and did an outstanding job. My washer and dryer along with my refrigerator looked brand new once they were done. Of course all the dusting, vacuuming and mopping were first rate.

Very polite and thorough with cleaning, on time unless notified of time changes.

Their service was perfection! I feel as if I have a new house and can once again enjoy inviting people in. I appreciate Mary's personal pride and care in her work; she cleans as if this were her own home.

First, they did a major cleaning of my house, three people were at my home for about 8 to 9 hours. Now, I am on a biweekly schedule.

They did a good job but they did miss some areas where they could have paid a little more attention to detail.

Mary's team cleans our house every 4 weeks and does an excellent job for a very reasonable price. She is responsive to special requests and returns phone calls promptly.

The cleaning itself was very good and thorough, and I trusted Mary and her crew absolutely. The organization and scheduling was pretty shaky, though. They ended up staying an hour or two longer than they expected, so I was hit up for more money, which I didn't appreciate. My house didn't get any larger or dirtier from when they did the original estimate. The second cleaning I scheduled the day before my house was to be in a homes tour, and they said they'd call an hour before they would arrive. They never called. I left several messages asking when they'd be there, and at 5pm I finally gave up, skipped my plans that night and cleaned myself. They showed up around 7pm and I turned them away.

They are wonderful! Very thorough cleaning, and do stuff that the big chain house cleaners won't do: Wet mop and scrub kitchen floors until they sparkle, special requests, even cleaned our windows for for free once in spring when we requested it. They are very trustworthy, and Mary cleans the kitchen herself every time they come out. We love this family-owned company!!
