She was able to tell us what the problem was, and within a week, the lamp had a new rheostat and was working perfectly.
The charge was $20!
It's nice to find a place in the Northland that can do this kind of repair.
They also have a nice showroom of new lighting, and I'd bet the service is very good for new buyers too.
