The crew was on time and had all the right equipment to do the job quickly and professionally.  They were able to cut and remove the large sections of concrete wall, then prep the openings and install, trim, and seal both windows in just one 8-hr work day.  They hauled everything away, left minimal mess, and I've had zero issues with either window for over a year now.  There were a bit expensive, but you typically get what you pay for.  Installing 4 ft x 4 ft windows in my foundation wall was not an area I was willing to skimp, and I was not disappointed.

After spending many hours trying to cut up and break up the concrete with a diamond saw and small electric hammer, we decided to bring in someone who knew what they were doing. Unfortunately, no one we talked to would take the job out of concern for our rock foundation. Kenny at KC Corring came out and decided that they had the equipment and staff to do the job, so gave us a price for demolition. The price was acceptable, but we also needed the debris taken away. The additional cost for that service, we felt, was a bit high, but the work needed to be done, so we OK'd the job. A couple of days before the work was to be scheduled we had two large loads of topsoil delivered, deposited directly in front of the stoop. I called Kenny, who came out again and said that they could work around it. Two hours before the work was to begin we received a heavy downpour of rain. I called the office and talked to Steve. He said that they were planning to go ahead with the job, as long as it wasn't actually raining. Because we have been working with landscaping, the back yard had been turned into a sea of mud during the rain. Eskel and Willie arrived on time, adequately explained what they were going to be doing, got their portable breaker off the trailer and started to work. I had to go leave after a couple of hours. When I returned late in the day, Eskel and Willie had finished their work and left. I was impressed. The stoop had completely disappeared and virtually all of the debris was removed. I went down to the basement to see how the foundation wall had survived. Amazing. Along a 15' section, corresponding with the part of the wall which would have been effected by vibration from the pounding of the breaker, there was no more than a tablespoon of broken mortar from between the stones. These guys were extremely careful and capable in taking out this huge block of concrete.
