He showed up around 830 the first day and worked until the afternoon. At the end of the second day, he laid down some tile. It looked good. I found out that you don't really know how it is going to be until the grouting part begins.
He finished laying the tile and grouted it on the third day. Chris had made cuts in the tile that shouldn't have been there, so there are random grout lines in the pattern that are very visible. The grout is already starting to come out. He didn't cut under the door jams and just grouted. The grout lines go from 1/8th inch to 1/2 inch or more and do not match up. Chris tracked water all over my hard wood floors and didn't bother to clean it up. I had grout on all my faucets from him using them. He said he would correct the problems.
He was told this was unacceptable and I expected him to come back and fix this mess. He said the work he did was good. He said he would have someone come back with him to fix it. Never showed up, of course. I still have some junk tools he just left on my back porch and buckets. In addition, I found several hand towels and other linens of mine he used with grout on them out in my back yard.
I do have pictures of the lousy job he did and get the privilege of looking at it everyday until I hire someone else to rip it all out and have it re-done. If anyone would like to see his sub-standard work, I would be happy to share it so you don't end up with dealing with a situation like mine.
