He has always done an excellent job. He is very neat and clean. He is very professional and he always cleans up afterwards. It is always two people that come out Jim and his helper James. I've always dealt with the two and they are good.

As always, Jim and James did an excellent job. I've used them several times in the past.

Start to finish was a dream. Extremely courteous and conscientious. Had the job done in no time and I will DEFINITELY use them again. A keeper for sure. Met my very picky expectations above and beyond.

Jim Gerstner Painting is a company we have used previously and also recommended previously on Angie's List. The experience we had this time was just as excellent as other times. Jim Gerstner and his assistant James take incredible pride in their work and it shows. They do everything they say they will do. Jim also agreed to do additional work that we identified in the middle of the job and was able to work it into the schedule even though it was spur of the moment. One example of the pride he takes in what he does: he removed a large bathroom mirror and found that previous painters had not dealt properly with a vent/outlet behind the mirror. When we pointed out the mirror was going to go up again and so perhaps that was ok, he said: "But if someone else takes the mirror down and I have not done this properly, it will be a reflection on my work." Jim then properly fixed the problem and repainted the wall flawlessly. Jim and James always show up promptly when they say they will show up. Every morning at 8:30 AM they were here. They kept us up to date on which rooms would be worked on next so we could coordinate anything necessary. They handled the moving/protective covering of furniture. When they have finished painting, the results are just excellent. We would not hire anyone else.

Jim and his helper James did an excellent job. They were punctual, careful about our home, kept everything organized at the end of the day. There was a mishap, partially our own fault, with an old television and Jim insisted on paying more than we thought would be a fair share of the cost of replacement. Jim provided the paint which was a very high quality oil based paint and the job looks outstanding. All the hardware, door handles, window pieces and parts were all put back and work great. He painted the vent covers separately, not just over them on the walls, so they can be removed for cleaning, etc. My room looks SO good. I plan to have Mr. Gerstner in again in the spring (when I save up some money) to do the trim in the remaining two bedrooms and our entry hall. It was a pleasure to do business with a man that works hard to maintain his good reputation, which he has certainly earned.

I liked everything about him and he did an excellent job along with his assistant James. He made a couple of recommendations on paint. He was very upfront and honest. He cleaned up after himself everyday. He finished when he said he would and the price was same as the estimate. He also did some extra work.

I was out of town the week they did the interior painting so it was great not having to sleep with paint fumes. The shutters were rehung and the exterior painting done after I returned to the entire project took approximately 2 weeks. Jim works with one assistnt, James, who has worked for Jim a number of years. I had used their services on a previous occasion and recommended him to a neighbor, so I was comfortable leaving my house in Jim's hands while I was gone. Jim always makes sure he understands exactly what you want. He and James are very neat, careful to protect floors and furniture, etc and leave the areas where they worked as they found them. Once again, I was pleased with the result. Jim's estimate wasn't the lowest, even with some concessions he made, but I trust him and know that he always goes the extra mile when needed. For example, the agreement was to touch up some woodwork but in several places he repainted it as the old was a little yellowed.

Mr. Jim Gerstner owns his company and told me he has been in business for 38 years; he works with a partner, James. Even though his painting bid was a bit higher than our other estimates, he really knows paint and what he is doing--this is obvious when he comes in to give a bid. He was so easy to work with and helped us use "green" (enviromentally safe paint with low emissions) paint for the jobs. Sherwin Williams Harmony brand was primarily used. Jim helped us match colors on woodwork when we were in doubt. He and James did beautiful work--walls are smooth, seamless, and look great. Windows look terrific and they were in bad shape, having gotten weathered over the years. Even the stained windows look great, Jim touched up the bottom sill areas: sanding, staining, then finishing the areas. They almost look new again. Jim and James both showed up promptly (for 5 days), were polite but mainly business, and we completely trusted them when we had to be out of the house several times. We highly recommend Jim Gerstner Painting.

Jim and james are very professional, got right to work and were done within 5 days. It looks great, insurance covered the cost which was not the cheapest quote that I had gotten, but I knew their work from my exterior paint job, and hired them knowing that it would be a quality, neat and meticulously clean job. They did not diappoint.

I called Jim based on Angie's List, Jim came out the next day and I had his bid the very next day. I got a some other bids, but we decided on Jim. Jim and James arrived a couple of weeks later, as I scheduled them, and were very professional. They get right to work, are meticulous in their daily clean up, and their work is quality. They arrive to work, are very pleasant but won't try to engage you in lots of conversation - I probably bugged them as I tend to talk, but they never seemed to mind! They worked around a very delayed window repair situation, with never a complaint. I think Jim and James are great guys - they do what they say they will, they are very organized, and clean. Jim and James really try and make the client satisfied - they put on an extra coat of paint on my doors - when I mentioned that I thought it would look better, with no complaint - I could tell that they just want the client satisfied. They also pointed out a missed repair that the window guy should have done, so that I could get him back to finish the job that he'd missed. I liked them so much I hired them to then paint my entire basement - which I will review in the interior painting section.

It went very well. He did reliable work, they were punctual and finished the work in a short amount of time. They did a very nice job. The price was reasonable for what they did. The interaction between the two gentlemen were not that professional with each other, but with me they were.

Jim came out to do an estimate, which turned out to be the final price. He left a color block so we could pick colors without going to the paint store, and then picked up the paint we chose. He arrived on time, moved all the furniture and objects, putting them back exactly where he found them. He used tape, drop-cloths, and plastic sheeting over doorways to keep the site clean. He vacuumed and wiped up everything after himself. He provided all the equipment, including super bright lights and fans to speed drying. I've heard popcorn ceiling removal leaves an incredible mess, but Jim cleaned beautifully. The only residue I saw was an extremely fine dust on a few items near the work site. The paint job looks great!!

We called in March and Jim said he couldn't get to us until late May, depending on the weather. They started exactly at the end of May. All areas were covered as they worked and at the end of the job you couldn't see any paint or damage to the plantings around the house. They were so professional that we never had that "invaded" feeling. They were even patient and helpful when we had serious color selection issues at the last minute. Jim's bid fell in the mid range and we felt that the work we added during the job was priced fairly. We were so pleased that we've asked for another bid on some inside work.

Jim was able to provide us with a quote almost immediately and actually came out on a Saturday. He estimated the entire job and ended up doing it in phases at our request. Because of the time lapse, I was worried that he wouldn't remember what we originally discussed. However, Jim had it all down without me saying a word, so I worried for nothing. He and his partner arrived around 8:30am every morning and worked non-stop until 4:30pm. The house was always left neat and clean; furniture was moved back in place and blinds put back up. We will happily hire Jim for our next painting project.

Jim was extremely reliable and courteous. He and his partner were efficient and timely. They kept the home clean and livable throughout the process and actually finished under the estimated time frame.

Jim and his assistant James did excellent work. They worked everyday until the job was finished and cleaned up every evening before leaving. Jim was flexible when I asked to have an additional trim color and charged me an extremely reasonable amount for the additional paint. I have already recommended Jim and James to my neighbors and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone else.

Jim viewed the job, gave an oral estimate, & followed with a written estimate mailed a couple of days later. He could schedule the job within a week. During his visit, he was courteous & quick- all business. On the day of the job, Jim called before arriving, & arrived a couple of minutes early. He & his helper, James, went to work immediately & worked nonstop until the job was completed, from 8:30 to 1:30. They started by vacuuming & cleaning everything in sight. They left a spotless work area. The paint job is beautiful. The other bids were for $500 & $750, weeks from an available date, & would take 2 to 2.5 days. Jim gave a $20 Angie's List discount! This company is all business & gets right to work- no time wasted in chit-chat. A great experience!

Jim did a great job. The walls turned out wonderful. He and his partner were very courteous and prompt. When they said they would be there at 9:30, they were there at 9:30 and even called before to let us know they were on the way. Even touched up a few areas in the house without us asking him to do so. Good experience, well worth the money.

Mr. Gerstner and staff arrived early to start the work and was very courteous and knowledgeable. They started by laying down a tarp right at the front door and extending it all the way into the work area. I am very pleased with the end result. They completed the work on time, the area was cleaned up and all furniture put back in place. I would recommend this company to anyone.

JIM & HIS PARTNER FOR FOR OVER 21 YEARS WERE OUTSTANDING. THEY WERE NOT THE LEAST EXPENSIVE OF MY BIDS BUT THEY WERE WORTH EVERY PENNY. THEY WERE ON TIME EVERYDAY, CLEANED UP EVERYDAY, & MOST PLEASANT TO WORK WITH. JIM LISTENED TO MY IDEAS & GAVE ME SUGGESTIONS WHICH I TRUSTED. HE HAD ALREADY DONE THE EXTERIOR OF MY NEXT DOOR NEIGHBOR'S HOUSE SO I HAD FIRST HAND KNOWLEDGE OF THE QUALITY OF HIS WORK- THAT & "A" REPORTS FROM ANGIE'S LIST MADE ME CONFIDENT TO USE HIM. IT TOOK THEM TWO & A HALF WEEKS, & THEY DID NOT WORK WEEKENDS. THEY WERE NEAT & METICULOUS, FROM THEIR VEHICLES TO THEIR EQUIPMENT TO THEIR PAINT CLOTHES. THE PREP WORK WAS THOROUGH & I WAS EXCEEDINGLY PLEASED. I WOULD RECOMMEND THEM WHOLEHEARTEDLY.

BOTH JIM AND HIS ASSISTANT JAMES WERE VERY PROFESSIONAL AND TRUSTWORTHY. METICULOUSLY CLEAN. BID MORE REASONABLE THAN 2 OTHERS I RECEIVED. MADE CONSTRUCTIVE SUGGESTIONS ABOUT WHAT WOULD LOOK GOOD. I GOT HIS NAME FROM ANGIE'S LIST BUT IT TURNED OUT HE HAD ALSO DONE PAINTING WORK FOR MY NEIGHBORS.

CAME EXACTLY WHEN HE SAID HE WOULD, CLEANED UP EACH DAY, PUT HIS EQUIPMENT OUT OF THE WAY, AND DIDN'T HAVE A RADIO.
