It was difficult to get ahold of them and then once the trees were trimmed, I couldn't tell anything had been done. I called and they said look at your trees, there are branches cut. He was right. I ended up calling another tree service and was much happier

I had a really good experience with Hofmann's Tree Service. They gave me a really fair price for what they had to do. I have a lot of trees. They did a great job. They were very punctual. They came out and gave me the estimates. It was a considerable amount of work. Two gentlemen came out to give me the estimate and they were both very professional and friendly. We walked around and I showed them the yard. They gave me hints on things to do and what they proposed to do. They could have done a lot more, but I only wanted to do just the basic clean-up and trimming and things. They were fine with that. They didn't try to push me to do more. When it came to the front yard tree that was damaged, they said they could try to trim it up, but that it probably wasn't going to live, so they really didn't charge me very much at all for the actual removal of it. They did a great job. They were able to pull it out and put dirt back, so that you couldn't really tell that a tree had been there. They did a really good job. They also did a good job of cleaning up after themselves. They were well worth the price.

The service went great.  The company was on time and professional.

After I bought the deal, I called and scheduled them to come out.  They were right on schedule, and we reviewed the work that needed to be done.  They did the work and left, leaving the place spic and span.  I was surprised at how quickly they completed the job, thanks to the size of their crew.

I felt bad for this guy. I don't think he was prepared for the amount of work Angie's List would generate.
Mr. Hoffman and his team did a good job, once they arrived. Very professional at the craft.
Where they suffered is meeting demand and having a call and appointment system to meet the demand, which appeared to overwhelm the company. It took numerous phone calls and 3 appointments to actually get the work done.
Small operators like Hoffman Tree Service probably need to have some help from outfits like Angie's List to see if their
working agreement is actually a good fit.  In other words, Angies list may want to be more cautious about offering deals to companies who cannot handle the number of calls it generates.

Jim and his crew were very attentive to my thoughts, considerate of my property and did an outstanding job!

John had advertised a $200 service for $99 coupon, which I purchased in August. I called him to get on his schedule, and he came by the house shortly thereafter to discuss what I wanted done. Subsequently, he was overwhelmed with response to the coupon, and it took some time for him to get back to me; even his voicemail box was full. I became concerned and e-mailed him to ask if he was going to be able to make it. Several others apparently lost patience and sent in F reports, having never (yet) received service. All I can say is, John IS WORTH THE WAIT! GREAT JOB JOHN HOFMANN AND CREW!!
I wouldn't hesitate to call on John for TREE SERVICE again.

A large tree branch had fallen across our driveway, blocking both of our cars in the garage. We called Jim and he and his crew, who were just finishing up another job, were here within two hours. They quickly cleared the branch off the driveway and said they'd be back sometime the next day (Saturday) to haul it away. They showed up at 8:30 Saturday morning, loaded up the branch and did a truly impressive job of cleaning up. We were very pleased with the work and especially appreciative that they got here so quickly and freed our cars from the garage!

Jim Hofmann came out on a Friday, and I told him that I had a coupon from Angie`s and needed some trees trimmed. Jim said that he would get back to me soon, and called the following Monday and said that they could be out that morning, They showed up soon after the call, and Jim and I discussed what needed to be done in the back yard. Four trees were trimmed, including low hanging limbs from a large pin oak. The work was done efficiently, and promptly, and every leaf and limb were cleaned up and removed. Jim was very professional, and there was no effort to "bump" up the price. This company did excellent work, and I will certainly use them again.

The Hofmann crew were very efficient in trimming the trees and cleaning up.  Thet were very reasonable after my Angies coupon.  It was only an additional $50.00 to do all I needed. I had six people working for an hour and a half.  My neighbor came over and asked for an estimate. She also had the work done from Hofmann's.  She had gotten other estimates for 10 times what Hofmann's were charging her.(Elderly widow)  We both know who to call in the future.

Excellent!  Jim's came by within a day or two after a request for a quote.  Once we contacted him to perform the job, the crew was here within a week.  They were efficient and professional.  Took a whole day to do the work - clean up was great too!  Had several neighbors stop by to get information or to speak with Jim, as he had done work for them as well.  We would definitely use this company again.  Great job and great price!

I got quotes from several services, and they were all comparable in cost, but not all of the services were going to completely clean up the oak trees.  I chose Hofmann's because he recommended doing the complete job.  It took less than a week for the job to be completed after I asked him to schedule it.  They left no mess at all, and did a good job in letting more light into the yard.  I recommend Hofmann's if you need trees to be pruned and cleaned up.

Hofmann's Tree Service came over to my house and gave me an estimate the day after a big summer storm when I couldn't get a couple of other companies to even tell me when they'd be able to come by.  Their estimate was very reasonable and I hired them to remove the fallen tree limb as well as go up in a bucket truck to remove 2 other small dead limbs.  They performed the work within 2 days of a big summer storm.  They were knowledgable, friendly, and did a great job of cleaning up the yard. 

Jim's estimate was the middle estimate I received, but I liked his responsiveness and knew several people who had used his services and liked them. His suggestions for what/how to do it made the most sense to me. I would use Jim's services again and have recommended him to other neighbors and friends.

Jim was great! He called me with an estimate and offered to trim two healthy trees in front yard to make mowing easier. Very punctual, polite and clean up was superb. Jim charged $150.00 less than other estimate and did NOT try to sell me anything I didn't need. Highly recommend.

We called for his advice whether to keep or remove the tree. He was able to show us that it indeed was dying. We decided to have it cut down and save pieces for firewood. He neatly stacked the wood where directed and removed the waste. He also removed some branches hanging too close to the house and removed them also. He ground out the Ash tree's stump as we requested.

I had Jim Hoffman come by and give me a free quote. I had some volunteer trees growing along my fence line approx. height 20-25 feet high. He came on the scheduled date and removed all the trees and cut the stumps as close to the ground as possible, per my request. There were 6 small trees that needed to come down and one old stump. All the work was done in about 3 hours and all tree debris was racked and hauled away.

Got out here quickly, responded to my call, and gave me a very fair price. I would use them again.
