Grant Renne & Sons Inc
About us
Grant Renne & Sons are contractors specializing in the repair of foundation problems. We have been in this phase of the construction industry since 1873, being family owned and operated for five generations. We are Kansas City's 6th oldest company in existence. We consult, advise and repair problems for small and large structures. Each project has its individual conditions, although many are similar. It is important that each be analyzed on a case-by-case basis, in order to determine what is to be recommended to correct the problem - either remedial or precautionary. Our long experience coupled with a continued search for new and better procedures based on sound and practical engineering, certifies our competence. The firm's list of satisfied clients in the Midwest numbers in the thousands including Fortune 500 companies, small businesses, national franchises, colleges, churches, homeowners, property managers and others. In many respects, the more difficult the work the more effective the application of our experience and technical skill. Our past record has been developed by devoting the same effort to a small job as to a large one.

"We have no record of doing business with Emily Berns in October of 2007 -we have no job folder, contract or work card filed under that name; we have no invoice dated in October of 2007 under that name; and we have no receipt of payment from a Berns in that same time frame."
"The work that this member refers to was completed on 5-19-09 for a fee of $400.00. We excavated and exposed a crack in the corner of the foundation, sealed it and backfilled. At her request, we returned to the job site on 6-16-09. At this time we observed a small amount of water pooling on the floor where the wall and the floor meet. It is our experience that a wall with a vertical crack in it may also have a cracked footing beneath the wall crack. On occasion, the water will come in through the footing crack and enter the basement where the floor and wall meet even though the wall crack has been sealed. It was our opinion that the water was coming in where the floor and the wall meet. That being the case, we recommended the installation of a sump pump and pit to catch this subsurface water. We gave her a discounted price of $1,000.00 based on having done the past work. We approached the water problem on a step by step basis, starting with the least expensive and disruptive method. In June it was our opinion that the water infiltration was caused by subsurface water. Our intention was not to mislead or take advantage of the member in any way. After 136 years in business and 85% of our work coming from previous customers and referrals, we continue to pride ourselves in providing honest evaluations of our customers' problems, quality work and excellent customer service."
